Two top Bioshock Infinite team members leave Irrational
Key members of the development team on Bioshock Infinite have left Irrational Games, raising questions about the state of the highly anticipated title, sources tell Gamasutra

I am really worried actually and it depresses me because Bioshock is my all time favorite game and I am an RPG enthusiast. I just can't imagine that anyone would choose to leave prior to release. 2 scenarios...one good, 1 really bad. First, Maybe the game is done, completely done and waiting for the best moment to release to make money. This is done in movies all the time; they sit there until the pre planned release date. 2nd, it's in complete disarray with powerheads butting heads, it came to a stand still and new people were brought in. In this scenario, we r screwed as it will be delayed further.
I guess maybe 2 important people got offered jobs on the same day and decided, on the same day, to leave arguably the most anticipated video game of 2013. I don't think so. Yeah...they have jobs to go to because they are good and as soon as they became available, they were snatched up. Now, is the game dome and they r moving on or r we gonna b hearing about how they r waiting for next Gen consoles and this becomes an albatross.
[UPDATE: Levine did acknowledge Wells' departure via Twitter, though, telling followers "Scott Sinclair, art director of Bio1, back in the art director's chair for Infinite to bring it home. Can't wait to show you what's cooking."]
Seems like a good thing. Bioshock 1 was pretty awesome.
Never good when a development team loses two major player. As long as they have Ken though, I am not too worried.
Still, this is exactly how Rare turned into, well . . . whatever they are now. They slowly lost all of their creative talent over the span of a few years.
You need to have respect for your employees. This is a very competitive market. Companies are always looking to pick up the best of the best.
They should have known people would eventually up and leave. Sad. They were definitely one of the best developers back in the day.
Anyway, as others are saying, let's hope these guys leaving is nothing more than them trying to spread their wings and try something different. Not due to some internal issues going on within the company.
i managed to work 18 hours days for about 2 months before i decided i'd had enough. stopped when i started feeling my heart beating irregularly one night.
1. No one raised any questions about the stability of the next game until this article.
2. I wouldn't call someone who pretty much managed the creative people as necessarily "key" in the success of the game other than making sure they meet their timelines.
3. I think Gerritsen, like many people, is looking for a way to stretch his artistic talent through a new job, not leaving because of issues or anything of the like.
I wouldn't worry too much, the game is basically finished with the majority of its development, and in an update, they stated that the art director for Bioshock 1 was replacing the one who left.

Nate Wells is up there with Ken Levine, this is a big loss for the team, although I'm sure the game is at a stage where his departure wouldn't be saying much. I'm sure he'll be missed moving onto future projects. I wonder what it was that pushed him out of his comfort zone?
There are so many reasons on why he left, Ranging from Family to something new to who knows what. But they are handling this very classy so I imagine everything is fine, game wise speaking. But hope the best !
