The dlc, while being a letdown in terms of content features two excellently designed maps that are on par, or better than the base maps. There is no doubt that VT2 is a flawed masterpiece, only tarnished by Fatshark's lack of cummincation and delays in their roadmap. But as a dedicated VT2 player, there is no doubt regarding whether I'll support the new DLC or not. Besides, the maps themselves are free to play. If Original Sin has to be compared with any game series, then it's Ultima (especially Ultima VII). I'd even say that the Divinity series, starting with Divine Divinity is basically a modern Ultima with its self-awareness and environmental interaction
One of my favorite games this year. Have 300+ hrs in it. But Fatshark are late on the promised DLC and other stuff by about 2 months and with all the bugs and stuff, the community is pretty pissed.

Been playing it a lot. While I like the devs' decision to present a different gameplay style and design, it doesn't work that well imo. The short missions, bland loot, the power level system, boring skilltree, grind for fate points-all kind of work against the game. Maybe that's why the ARPG formula hasn't changed much since the 90s.
Fallout: New Vegas and the first two Fallouts and Arcanum does this excellently too.
