Top 10 Confirmed 360 Exclusives @ E3 '08 (XboxOZ360)

If there's been one reason above any other to own a 360 it's the exclusives. Year after year, Microsoft continues to dazzle gamers with an ever increasing library of exciting new IPs and groundbreaking, record-shaking franchises. This year gamers are being treated to the widest diversity of AAA titles Microsoft has ever assembled with only one FPS in a lineup strewn with RPGs, strategy, platforming, action and adventure.

The only question is what made the top 10 and how do we rate the big hitters in Gears 2, Fable 2, Halo Wars and Banjo-Kazooie...

Microsoft will dominate E3!

Breakfast6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

...of course theyll dominate e3!

Relcom6197d ago

lol don't forget Killzone 2

Superfragilistic6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

I just hope Fable 2 takes the spotlight away form the limelight hogging Gears 2... they've only got the one big shooter this year and I can't see them letting anybody forget about it! :(

@ Bubbles

That'd be Peter Moore who's now head of EA Sports. Although I'd love to see J Allard return for Microsoft, doing his best wigger - "I'm hip and on the down-low" corporate America - a coming on stage with a big ass COG tag on his arm! lol

UnSelf6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

Another e3 wit Microsoft, anotha tattoo by that guy whose name idc to remember

EDIT: There u go thanks for the correction i almost said Phil Harrison....god forbid what would happen to me if i did

PirateThom6197d ago

Peter Moore?

He works for EA now, he left Microsoft.

mepsipax6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

well after some average games, like PD: Zero, Ghoulies, Kameo, I've been extremely dissapointed in Rare, while these weren't bad games, they weren't up to the quality they had achieved with the N64 days, but Banjo is looking just plain amazing, yep after viva pinata and banjo, rare is back on the top of my favorite dev of all time. Oh and also, this is console exclusive right, because the day Left 4 Dead is an X360 exclusive is the day valve abandons its loyal PC gamers, and that ain't gonna happen.
edit: damn I forgot I was replying, anyway, I think this will be a good final E3, you've got all these great games coming out for all consoles, Ninty, Sony, M$ will all have great showings, yep it must suck to be a fanboy nowadays and only have one console with all the great exclusives coming out on the different platforms.

gaffyh6197d ago

6 (Left 4 Dead) and 10 (Tales of Vesperia) are only timed exclusive aren't they?

zethos566197d ago

I think Tales of Vesperia might be. But Left 4 Dead isn't (Valve has no interest in the PS3).

fusionboxer6197d ago

Probably better then whatever nintendo has up their sleeves.

mepsipax6197d ago

I think Ninty will have some pretty good reveals, just looking at the possibilities Disaster: DOC, Pikmin 3, Man Icarus, Animal Crossing Wii, New Zelda Game, Punch Out, and maybe even a new retro title, it's gonna be a good E3 on all fronts.

KillaManiac6197d ago

Ya...Valve admitted in a interview that they "weren't ps3 developers" (meaning they sux). So I personally would rather the game stay on 360 only than it port and sux bigtime like Halflife orange box did.

cito35th6197d ago

too human? really?...
also fable 2 looked like a cheap ps2 game, based on both videos
halo wars kills the whole purpose of halo.... i mean ITS NOT EVEN FIRST PERSON!
gears2 is bad ass
viva pinata?... lol

thats a line up right there!

this E3 is going to be interesting

madmike6196d ago

then buy a 360 i want to play games not watch them

kosha6196d ago

It doesnt have to be first person just cause its a halo game you know

KLEPTOMANIAC6196d ago

it sure is a pretty nice line up.... and i own a Ps3!

xhairs96196d ago (Edited 6196d ago )

How do you play games if you don't watch the game?

-----------------------------

Needless to say, Too Human still looks like crap. And a game BASED ON MULTIPLAYER, only 2 man co-op? C'monnnn

Bob Dole6197d ago

The only one Bob Dole cares about is Fable 2, and everybody knows Bob Dole's opinion is the only one that matters.

Superfragilistic6197d ago

Well you should read the article then cause they put Fable 2 ahead of Gears 2!

Bob Dole6196d ago

Bob Dole read the article and agrees with Fable 2 being at number 1.

belal6197d ago

if mgs4 and FF13 wont be announced at e3 will you shut the F UP ?

PLZZZZZZZZ SAY YESS

anyways

i think sony will do good this year by showing us some gow 3 ( the real GOW)fotage and some new ff fotage. sony will dominate.

i wonder what nintendo will do ? lol their biggest game has landed, what next ?

Breakfast6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

I guess we wait...

Omegasyde6197d ago

Starfox 3...Pokemon-55.....Metroid.... Animal Crossing.....Pikmin 2(ugh)........and oh my favorite as well as Breakfast's...

Nintendogs!

(I really wish Nintendo would make one NON-family game like a shooter or a mature action adventure game)

jspc19896196d ago

mgs4 being announced? does he not know that its already been out for a little while now lol. since when do already released games get announcements at E3? x

Domenikos6196d ago

Ohh... Breakfast just pwned u lol

PirateThom6197d ago

Oddly, the top 2 are the only 2 I care about.

Velvet Assassin looks horrible.

Superfragilistic6197d ago

Do you mean the game or the protagonist?

mepsipax6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

I'd disagree with you on that, you don't think banjo or left 4 dead matter, all gears 2 is going to be is just a nice upgrade to the first gears, not saying thats bad, I'm just saying I don't know why this is going to be huge, I'm still a little skeptical about Fable 2, the first Fable had the same hype around it, and I was extremely dissapointed with it, anyway banjo and L4D are looking wicked.
oh and also, gears had the most chessiest and cleached singleplayer, so they better not try to think people play gears for the story.

PirateThom6197d ago

Superfragilistic - The game in general, just what I've seen.

mepsipax -L4D has potential, but I'll wait for reviews. Rare are yet to make a good game with Microsoft, so I am not really holding out much hope. Cautious optomism.

I'm looking forward to Gears 2 just because I like the ridiculous machismo of the whole thing.

Superfragilistic6197d ago (Edited 6197d ago )

Mate I couldn't agree more, for me personally I'm really looking forward to Fable 2, Banjo and Left 4 Dead. I agree with your sentiments about Gears 2. It's well on track to be a very nice upgrade, but compared to those other titles I just don't find it as interesting or innovative.

And hell yeah... Rare's back! :)

EDIT: @Pirate

All good mate. I was worried you were saying that hot thing in leather was horrible! lol

As for Rare. Go back and play the original Viva Pinata and then tell me they haven't made a good game for Microsoft. ;)

gaminoz6197d ago

I'm really hoping it isn't. It is a great concept, and a bit different to WW2 shooters.

Omegasyde6197d ago

I don't think RARE is going to bounce back to the fame it had with goldeneye/Killer Instinct soon.

But if Killer Instinct sequel pops out that would be on the level of a final Fantasy 7 remake. Microsoft you should give the fans what they want...Halo 4, Killer Instinct 2, and some how Knights of Old Republic 3.

Gears of War 2 Remake was in development “10 years ago” but was scrapped by Xbox

Ayi Sanchez: "Old work. I did this 10 years ago now as part of a material test for a remaster of Gears of War 2 that never happened."

RaidenBlack113d ago

lolz,
hope we're still getting Gears 2 & 3 for PC, as per rumors

Cacabunga112d ago

Xbox always taking the right decisions

XiNatsuDragnel113d ago

Wow... just wow Microsoft sigh at it again 😑

Lightning77112d ago

Weird, in mean they had no studios to make anything really new so there's a part of me thats kinda glad they scrapped it. If they released this back then it would of gotten ridiculed for remakes and remastering stuff. Now they have new and interesting games so the collection is harmless.

CrimsonWing69112d ago

Geez, Xbox, something like that I would’ve bought Day 1. Great business decisions over there.

lucasnooker112d ago

10 years ago it wasn’t such a big deal. The games were only a few years old by that point

CrimsonWing69112d ago

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition came out in 2015 (essentially 10 years ago), having a follow-up to that on the then next-gen console would’ve absolutely been welcomed, in my book.

LoveSpuds112d ago

I can only assume the the Gears of War Remaster flopped so they decided to scrap the other remakes?

Seems short sighted to me as I really enjoyed the 1st remaster. Regardless, I'll snap up some remakes to play on my PS5.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies432d ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken431d ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing69432d ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker432d ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo432d ago (Edited 432d ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing69432d ago (Edited 432d ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos432d ago (Edited 432d ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt432d ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken431d ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.
