When I first saw that new Playstation Fighting Stick controller, I though it was because of Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection.
Then we got this amazing and surprising (at least for me) announcement from Sony (Xdev) Marvel and Arc Systems Works; THEN, everything fell into place and made sense!
You know even though a lot of people didn't like Infinite i played it quite alot. Matchmaking these days is kinda hard and I was looking for a new fighter to get into. Was checking out 2XKO and was always a Guilty Gear fan. Feels like this game was made for me.
Yup, and it looks so damn good. First current gen 2D based fighting game for me that looks like it wouldnt run and look similar on a last gen console.
+ it already has a good couple of characters that werent in any (good) fighting games before..hopefully we might see Blade, Daredevil, Green or Hobgoblin, Marvell and so many more
I don't buy fighting games normally on launch anymore because all the dlc crap, but this one will be an exception
This is the kind of first party offerings I'd love to see more of. I love how it recreates that Marvel vs. Capcom magic, but they took it in a new, definitely more Japanese-influenced direction. I'm interested to see how some of these mechanics, like the 4v4 stuff, play out in reality.
I love me some 2D fighting games. Even if I won't play it online, local MP is a blast. I'll be adding this to my collection if they release it physically
I always hoped arc systems was given Marvel vs Capcom 4 but this will do as well. And i hope this also gives Capcom the opportunity to do a VS game with another company...
It's rare these days when game announcements don't get leaked and it's a genuine surprise. This came out of nowhere. I don't know what this means for MvC now, but this looks SO good. And that arcsys art style is beautifully done. I really hope they dig into the crates for characters other than the usual suspects.
Very true - Although saying that, there were rumours about 18 months ago about PlayStation acquiring Arc System Works and then not long after that they acquired EVO. A lot of that makes sense now.
With the recent trend of fighting games, I hope there’s an abundance of single player content. I’ll be playing it competitively mostly but with the Marvel IP there’ll be a lot of more casual fighting game players coming in, and the single player content will go a long way in maintaining their interest.
