it won't be the wunder-game, that it was hoped to be, at launch and so, hence the pre-launch over promises, that they'll make it up post launch.
i dont have high expectation but hope its somewhat acceptable at launch

a lot of the hate is coming from the treatment of the staff. So can someone make a game while treating the staff better? Ah... yeah.

I can't help but note those parallels to Unknown 9: Awakening. Grander world-building plans going on in the background, only to hit a brick wall once the game itself actually releases.

The simple fact that this game is not going to have the creator playground mode on consoles, and PC only? Not even a mention of 'with consoles coming shortly thereafter' or something like that? Pff... this game just crashed in sales and is going to F L O P harder than already brewing up to be with the streamers proving the shitty of a promo video it is that they were expected to hype but can't bring themselves to.. Broken framerates, pop-ins, glitches, the 2 bullets to an engine and explosions, full mag in a windshield and tires no reaction... ragdoll springboards, gliding off road terrain vehicle physics etc. Developer telling them via discord stream that they added invincibility mode because the player would die too much.. instead of sending demo codes out?? .. A story trailer that still doesn't explain a damn thing... A custom world creator that..doesn't explain a damn thing... Game is a definite wait for bin sale.

A lot of hate towards the game due to the fact that.

1. No marketing
2. If you gonna associate "GTA" series with your game, then it has big boots to fill and puts an unnecessary target on the game's back.
3. Early press gameplay hands-on has been met with a muted response.
4. What has been shown thus far can only be described as "generic".
5. Game looks like a mash-up of Max Payne, GTA, Cyberpunk 2077.
6. Dodgy interviews with the game's producer/lead.

Damn I honestly thought this was gonna be a lovingly crafted single player “GTA Clone” that you buy once, play through the story and it’s done. I was excited to have that again.

Investors pulled out of the game after the devs took the game from "Fortnite Killer" to "Wish GTA" and now they (BaRB) are scrambling to release something, anything, to recoup some income before the tap runs out. Big promises and supposedly ambitious goals but none of it will deliver. Turns out you need more than a lead dev with name power if you want quality.
