“You can now update the DualSense wireless controller device software with a wireless connection”

Megaton.

jznrpg449d ago

Nice . Didn’t have to update it much but I didn’t always have a cord plugged in and had to grab one to update my controllers . Minor hassle but nice to not have to do anymore .

EvertonFC449d ago

finally chat and rage racing in GT7 lobbies

Neonridr449d ago

that's awesome, having to get up and plug in 3 dualsenses to update was a pain.

Knushwood Butt448d ago

First world problems!
The getting up isn't so bad, but trying to remember where I put the USB-C cable is a pain.

Neonridr447d ago

@Knushwood - for sure, it wasn't the end of the world, but I usually end up skipping the update because I don't feel like getting up XD

Aloymetal449d ago

Yup, music to my ears! Great feature for sure.

dantesparda448d ago

Discord chat to chat across platforms.

sagapo449d ago

VRR for 1440p, yes please!!

Sonic1881449d ago

Great if you game on a 1440p monitor since most LCD/OLED doesn't support or have 1440p

badz149449d ago

Some of the best bang for buck monitors out there are the 1440p 144Hz ones

Concertoine448d ago

You can just set the console internally to 1440p, no? The VRR-capable TV will support VRR no matter what the res is.

babadivad448d ago (Edited 448d ago )

Never understood the hype for 1440p support but it seems to be popular. Glad for those who were waiting on it.

Quick question about those requesting 1440p, are you guys gaming on monitors or TVs.

Eventhough my TV supports 1440p (I believe the LG CX does), why would someone choose to game at this resolution?

It's great for PC gaming but for consoles?? I'm a bit lost there.

archibold448d ago (Edited 448d ago )

1440p monitors strike a nice balance between resolution and FPS. The jump in resolution to 4k takes a toll on the FPS, which is why Fidelity mode in most games is a locked 30fps. Performance mode usually runs at a dynamic 1440p at 60fps in comparison.

sagapo448d ago

I play on a 27 inch LG monitor @1440P. Imo the sweetspot considering sharpness of resolution and screensize. My PC, SeriesX and PS5 are hooked up on it. My wife can watch TV as I can game whenever I want.

FinalFantasyFanatic448d ago (Edited 448d ago )

The hype for 1440p is perfectly understandable, for a long time, 4K, especially high refresh 4K was impossible, so for those of us who wanted something better than high refresh rate 1080p... 1440p was the best balance/middle ground, lots of people have 1440p monitors, and there really isn't that many good 4K monitors to pick from even now.

Even the PS5/XBX doesn't really compare to more recent graphics cards performance-wise, so 1440p makes sense as an option for those consoles.

Finally! I think I'll order the steelseries headset I've been wanting now. The one that can be connected to both PS5 and PC so I don't have to plug it in every time I switch

jznrpg449d ago

I just bought a SteelSeries that you can use for PS5/PC it’s very nice .

sinspirit449d ago

I refused to order the offical Sony headset when the mic wasn't so good. I just don't get why the mic of all things is an afterthought on don't otherwise perfect headsets meant for talking to people with

Neonridr449d ago

I got the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless ones. Love them.

closed_account449d ago (Edited 449d ago )

Funny the timing of this comment, as I just received my Amazon order yesterday evening of my first SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro headset.(wired) My job let me write it off as a business expense bc we all need headsets for meetings, so I went all out. I will for sure will be using it on my PS5 too! haha I tested it out on a few games real quick last night, and hands down the best headset I've ever used. The 3D spatial depth and overall richness of sound is absolutely incredible. Enjoy!

Deathdeliverer449d ago

Can you balance sound between chat and game on those headsets? The PS5 headset allows it so seamlessly that I only think of it when I consider buying a headset and I need a new one. I bought a turtle beach on PS4 and even with the dongle it wouldn’t let me balance the sound. The chat and the game were equally loud so it would drown out the teams voices. Worked great on my PC though. Payed 200+ for that headset just to be disappointed. Looking on Amazon these steel series are expensive as hell, but if someone can confirm it’s sound balancing on PS5 I’ll dive in too.

boing1448d ago (Edited 448d ago )

I think only official Sony headsets have buttons to change this balance on-the-fly. You have to go into sound settings for the rest. Or get DS Edge :) . It has Fn buttons with quick access for this.

Playstation Country - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants – PS5 Review

Michael Kitchin writes, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants does not breathe easy outside of an arcade setting. The short campaign loses any risk when you're given plentiful lives at the start of each stage. Whilst the new areas are welcome, they don't make the package feel any more complete. In the comforts of home, every imperfection comes into stark realisation. The slim presentation, the decent but ultimately safe combat and the overall small package makes this tough to recommend."
