PS exclusives keep breaking records endlessly, each generation. It's just a matter of time before another PS exclusive breaks this record. That just tells you how great these games have been. I've been playing Ragnarok it's really amazing. Watching kratos even at his age still learning new things and having character development is a thing to see.

It's mad, but it's pretty regular that they break their own records. Definitely on the up and up!

And the vast majority of those sales were on PS5, going by the UK charts info we got. I think it was about 85%.

Now they just need to keep up PS5 supply throughout the Christmas season (and make sure I get my PSVR2 day one 22 Feb) and the generation is back on for a belter. Sony be like: "what pandemic"?

Perfect time to pick up a PS5 at Best Buy. I'm a spamming advert today because portions of the N4G community still seem to have trouble acquiring one. My store had tons of em on 5 pallets. GOW bundle retails for $559 USD. Just bought my youngest his. No need to fight the crowds. Go today. No online orders, in-store pick up only.

Well we don't have Best Buy in my country and most of the PS5 stock went to US market.
We still do pre orders here that's why I'm skipping PS5 until there's a slim model or they have enough stock for easy no drama store pick up, none of this lining up at 11 AM mad rush apply a QR code for a chance to just pre order then wait another 7 days of uncertainty to see if I'm eligible or not.
Nice for you guys in the west though the availability are getting much better there than here.

Well deserved this game is a true masterpiece. The quality in everything is above the rest. Just hope that more gamers are able to play this game and that Sony keeps pushing their studios to build games like this.

Why give away what people are actually willing to spend their money on. Thrifty gamers will never get it as their own pockets are their only concern.

Not only that but it is a death spiral when you keep on catering to that audience. Games like these are massive investments and the fact that they have no monetization makes them even more riskier. Such shit literally can't work on a subscription service where you goal is to nickel and dime folks on AA titles with a small budget. Such a user base will also never accept a price hike and are only loyal until they can get shit for cheap. If MS took out the 1$ convert, I'd see a mass exodus from Gamepass for a fraction of their active counts. At some point, you have to ditch the title of being the 'cheapest buffet in town' and the games should need to do the talking.

There other side is looking over and wondering why they can't have games like this.

1. Talent. You just don't have it in this level

2. Your business model is not geared for this quality. The games live and die by it. Their model is literally aimed at being cheap and nickle and diming you. You don't get a complete full product.

3. Sony give their Devs all the rope they need to create these games. They don't have the set agendas, you have to make this cos we need it to fill that hole.

If it was game only that's $300 million revenue. But there's GoW bundles so add in PS5 sales 500,000 launch week plus a new controller for GoW thats probably another $300 million. So probably $600 million in revenue for GoW launch.

true, even if we extrapolate the 18% boxed sales it suggests PS4 copy sold nearly a million. This will be a replica of Breath of the Wild's performance - 20 mil plus on the 5 and 2.5 million on the 4 (Switch to WiiU)

From what I've read in the different reports, sales are counting Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, not including the Sunday.
However, I don't know. Might be 5 days, but most of the sources I've seen says 4 days.

The end game Berserker King boss fight might be one of my favorite boss fights of all-time, it was fucking epic.

Already completed the game with 50 hours on it and it's a masterpiece of the same caliber as the 2018 version.
The game never feels like a drag, the story is on par with Sony's other big games (TLOU, Uncharted, etc.).
The game manages a 1st by humanizing the antagonists (Thor and Odin) while making some of your partners sound like a prick hellbent on vengeance.
The difficulty is spot on with some tougher parts but never to the point of frustration.

As single-player experience goes it's one of the best I had in a while and would gladly sink another 20 hours in a story DLC.

Rollocks.
After finishing Cyberpunk on my Series X a few months back I've been swamped with great PS5 games.
Horizon FW to GT7 to Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart to Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection and now GOW Ragnarok.
Then I've got Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut to start after I've completed Ragnarok.
PS5 is packed with quality exclusive AAA games.
Xbox just can't compete, my Series X probably won't get played on until Starfield comes out, which is likely to be delayed again to late 2023.
