New Xbox Trailer Shows Six Games that Will “Change Your World” in The Next Six Months

Today Microsoft released a trailer about six games coming to Xbox and Windows over the next six months.

I agree, it was a fake open world. Progression depth was minimal, rpg elements very minmal. Decent enough action.

Exploration meant nothing. It was overall ok at best. Very pretty at places.

I appreciate your input. It’s unfortunate when people defend its faults. I want Sony to use their hundred of millions to set the bar. In my opinion all they do is set the bar with quality and production values - not in terms of addictive and nostalgic gameplay. Be better than The Witcher, be better than Dragon Age, be better than Diablo, be better than The Elder Scrolls, be better than Xenoblade, be better than Fallout, be better than GTA. Tackle a genre that allows for a rich and lasting experience with lore and depth. They keep paying for 3rd party companies to make these games for them.

Yes that is true. The marketing point regarding the design of Horizon is amazing. Execution was just underwhelming. They should have made a true RPG with customizable characters and hired multiple writers for the lore. The one guy who came from Fallout was not enough.

You're not alone. Everytime MS hyping their games, it just doesn't reach me, not even one of their 6 games. Ah, well, i guess maybe Xbox fans feel the same way when they see Sony's announcement.
I used to buy MS's consoles (Xbox og and Xbox360), they've gone in a specific direction after that with their established IPs.

Is Age of Empire even on Series X? I only see it listed for PC in the trailers. I will probably try some of these on PC. Maybe get a Series X, but, way down the line when they start rolling more games out, probably like in 2024 at the rate they're going.

Well I will say it's a bit of cheating cause Flight simulator is already on PC and Age of Empire only release on Win 10 at the moment but despite that, I have to confess that it's a good amount and not counting DLC and games like the Ascent (why am I the only one excited for a twin-stick shooter?)

Everything has a date but Halo, damn that game has had it rough this time around. Then one other game is also on PlayStation day and date with the Xbox version. I guess what ever it took to turn that 5 into 6. Let’s sneak a multiplatform game in there. Guess they never said all exclusive… but that just takes away some of the oomph. Leaving it like that makes any other developer that is just lumping all the releases together and saying 47 amazing games releasing over the next 6 months ok. Anything it takes to increase the number. It’s up to YOU to find out how many are exclusive, multiplatform, and actually have release dates.

Oh… so it’s titled Xbox- Games Change your world………. Average consumer doesn’t know what the hell a game pass is. Its also a LOT more coming on gamepass than 6 games in 6 months. They are talking about big releases PERIOD that you can get on Xbox over the next 6 months. If it was a gamepass trailer it would have made more sense to say “40 games coming to game pass over the next 6 months including….” Nice try though.

That is what happened here.

While I believe the Halo portion of the main show was disappointing, that 12 minute multiplayer overview they showed after looked great. It should be a very good game.

Hyped for Psychonauts 2 and Hades coming to Game Pass in a few months. FH5 will be the first great showcase for the Series X. Good times ahead for Xbox from the looks of things.

I really like Forza Horizon 5 a ton and to me, Forza Horizon is the king of arcade racers.

But, since it is on XBO I find it hard to believe the game is fully next generation.

I am sure the game assets are NextGen, but the game engine is probably an upgraded Forza Horizon 4 engine. No developer would have two completely different code base games when they ship on older devices. I still expect the game to be spectacular. Forza Horizon always is. I just take exception to people thinking this is fully next generation.

It could depend on whether it was built from the ground up for the new consoles or not. Flight Simulator was certainly built for high end PCs, and they've got it to work on Xbox One somehow. I don't imagine it would be as hard to scale down a racing game to the previous generation.

Regardless, it's the best looking game on Series X or PS5 in my opinion, so I don't really care how they got it there.

Flight Simulator was not announced in the trailer as available for XBO a few days back and I wouldn't hold my breath that it is coming there.

I have been around development a long time (not games). You don't start by building a app or game on a higher spec and then downscale it to a lower spec device. You start by building it on the lower spec device and then tuning it for the higher spec device. What if you found out your game can't be downscaled to the lower spec device mid-development because of something you did on the higher spec device? It does not make sense to build a game on a higher spec device and then downscale to the lower device. Generally developers choose the device they think they will have the most problems delivering a game on as their "lead" device. That is the whole purpose of choosing a "Lead" device. To, know your game will work on all the devices you intend to ship it on.

So Jalo'a multilayer is free to play anyway, back4blood is a multiplatforn title, psychonauts 2 also multiplatform I believe AoE4 is pc only title and a game I'm really looking forward 2. Flight simulator has been out on pc ages and forza horizon looks OK but I'm confused what happened to the mainline forza entry that is due?? It's good value for MS's first party titles or certainly has the potential to be but in the case of back4blood isn't great value as that title isn't going to be on there long term it will cycle off given its a 3rd party title same goes for a couple of others I think. Idr what the discount on games bought that are on games pass is but I think it's like 10-20% so assuming you pay full price for games pass I see this only being good value if you are interested in all of these games on release. End of the day I maintain that long term viability and profitability of games pass which atm by MS's own admission loses lots of money- is to hike the subscription price down the line to 2-3x what it is today once enough people are locked in stuck subscribing becauae most of their catalogue of games they only own through games pass. I'm also concerned that if everyone moves towards this model it would set a clear and finite figure on number of supportable studios for AAA titles whilst making a profit without having to further hike subs and this in turn leads to a stagnation and a lack of competition.

Where's your source on that. Back when Gamepass had 10 million subscribers Microsoft did say its not profitable yet. I've never heard them say they lose lots of money on Gamepass.
They are now on over 27 million subscribers.

this is not bad wouldn't call this great news. in this list are only 2 "XBOX exclusives" since xbox calls everything an exclusive even though they are multiplatform games becuase they are on the pc aswell. now age of empires will be a PC exclusive games thats right one game in the xbox trailer wont even be on the XBOX. the other 3 games are actual multiplatform games. so you can get them on playstation aswel. so they make it look way better than it is to show age of empires shows how little xbox has.

Things are probably going to get moved as to not overshadow the other.

how about no pretty sure Nintendo holds that record. and with the switch taking second place and even looks like they will pass the ps4 which would be a great achievment. the Xbox needs to be happy with 3rd place. also, most of those games will be on PC as well so they are multiplatform and not exclusives. and even then it wouldn't come close to sony`s record. I'm just glad when good games come out. and luckily Microsoft seems to want to release everything on pc as well so no reason to buy an XBOX. I can enjoy the best of the 4 worlds with switch, ps5, and PC
