The game received a great response on Xbox One and there couldn't be a better time to release another title in the franchise.

It's success last gen already made it worthy of a sequel/prequel.

I think the success of gta 5 and more importantly the online aspect has made Rockstar a tad lazy let's face it if the gta 5 online didn't make as much as it currently does with them shark cards then we would of definitely seen another game by now from rockstar to keep there shareholders happy.

But with the success of gta5 online there is no need to rush and can take as much time as they want they have money coming in daily from 3 year old game.

Lon3wolf2998d ago

That's the way I am seeing things, happy if they prove me wrong though.

Nitrowolf22998d ago (Edited 2998d ago )

Rockstar has always had big gaps between r3leases though.

Not saying that shark cards arent playing an I fluency cause they probably are, in fact I expexlct them in the next red dead. ACE cards or something along those lines

krypt19832998d ago

That's doesn't matter rockstar sd make rdr not rockstar north two different teams that's why rdr blows gta v out of the water rdr online is even boat loads better then gta online

MasterCornholio2998d ago

Pretty much. The game was already popular on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

However it's nice that the Xbox One can play this title via BC.

thrust2998d ago

Looks like people played it on 360,PS3 and now the Xbox one (if they want)

KwietStorm_BLM2998d ago

You're making too much sense for a post on the internet. Needs more current events sensationalism.

Take Two Interactive will be at Gamescom. Maybe we'll see RDR 2 revealed at the show? Or maybe they're just bringing existing games like Mafia 3 to Germany...

I would imagine that there are a lot of new gamers coming into age now that are interested in playing a great western game. Even though it's six years old, it definitely withstands the test of time. A great game is a great game. I might just fire up the PS3 and mosey into the sunset again :)

gangsta_red2998d ago

I have seriously never played this game but have always heard how fantastic it was. Just one more reason why BC is very important and an excellent option to have for your system.

jb2272998d ago

Never played Red Dead? C'mon dude you're slipping....it is good to have the game available on current gens though for those who sell their old systems for new gens. You should definitely try it out. I typically don't finish stories or dive deep into side content for Rockstar titles like GTA, but Red Dead is easily the best campaign in Rockstar's history. For like $7 or whatever they were selling it for on the Xbox store it is worth every penny & then some.

gangsta_red2998d ago

I don't know what at the time prevented me from playing the game. It was always on the back burner, it just kept getting pushed more and more back.

But I will definitely pick it up now and leave it on the back burner for my Xbox One.

TKCMuzzer2998d ago (Edited 2998d ago )

@gangsta_red
Hold on, you never bought it last gen as it was always on the back burner, yet you will purchase it on the Xbox One and still put it on the back burner.
It sounds like you are buying it to endorse BC on your console of choice. Best thing to do is buy it, then play it, thats a better reason.

Come to think of it, wasn't RDR part of a PS + plus month......................... ..yep, oooh, might give me PS3 a boot and download this, nice.

slate912998d ago

@tkcmuzzer

Buying it for $7.50 now and putting it on the back burner for later. Whats wrong with that? The game will be tied to his xbl account permanently so no rush...

Errorist762998d ago

You can't be serious...why would you miss that?! Too young?!

Filmicfps2998d ago

He might not have had time. Some people have jobs and other priorities. They might also have prioritized other games at the time with the intention of coming back to it later. It shouldnt be so hard to understand dude

ziggurcat2998d ago

red dead redemption is a must play - last i read it was $7 on the xbox store (?), which is an absolute steal for a brilliant game.

Yui_Suzumiya2998d ago

Dude, it's the one great game Rockstar have made (besides L.A. Noire which they helped develope) so get on it!

Just smh so you think it selling well last Gen didn't already warrant a sequel?

Gamer logic 2016

Imalwaysright2998d ago

I agree but the game getting acknowledgement 6 years after the original release enforces the idea that a sequel would be a commercial success.

neutralgamer19922998d ago

Really so selling 14 plus million wasn't enough of a proof for that

Imalwaysright2998d ago (Edited 2998d ago )

English is not my language so I have to ask: did I say otherwise?

It has been 6 years since RDR and no word from Rockstar on a sequel so yeah, the success of this game through X1 BC is a reminder to them that gamers are interested in this IP and not just in GTA.

neutralgamer19922998d ago

Lol I am sorry if I came across wrong I was also agreeing with what you said lol

Liqu1d2998d ago

They already pretty much confirmed another Red Dead is coming.

MilkMan2998d ago

Aren't they making a sequel already? Didn't something leak?

Lon3wolf2998d ago

Wasn't that unconfirmed assets etc. that made their way onto the net?

IIFloodyII2998d ago

TakeTwo pretty much confirmed a sequel was coming ages ago, since then there's been a few leaks here and there but nothing absolutely concrete (not easily faked).

MasterCornholio2998d ago

Take Two tends to take their time with their games.

As far as I know they even were about to reveal it at Sony's E3 conference but cut it out because a Saloon shooting scene was too similar to the Orlando shooting.

Red Dead Redemption's PC Port Confirmed Irrefutably After 14 Years

The official PS Store description of Red Dead Redemption has given away the imminent arrival of the game on PC.

OtterX43d ago

The best part about this no doubt will be the modding community. I'm sure some really talented individuals will give it a proper graphical overhaul.

RaidenBlack43d ago

GTA IV pc port was abysmal ... and RDR1 came just after GTA IV ... I am more worried about the base port job than mod support later

just_looken43d ago

Lets hope its not as bad as the ps4 port job

DaReapa43d ago

I'll be getting this despite already having it on PS3. RDR is one of the few series I'd double dip for.

SwiftyMagee43d ago

If you check the Sony store site, the reference to a PC port has been taken down. So right now there is no definitive proof but I imagine some sort of announcement will happen soon, maybe in the coming weeks. I'm picturing a fall release if it happens in 2024.

Number1TailzFan43d ago

Kind of expecting RTX remix for this

TheNamelessOne43d ago

Finally. I'll double-dip for this one, considering it's a solid port.

Rockstar Considered Red Dead Redemption & GTA Movies, But Ultimately Dropped The Idea

Rockstar Games had considered making Red Dead Redemption and GTA movies at one point, but had ultimately dropped the idea.

Both would make more sense as a series than as movies, though I think Red Dead would be far easier to adapt.

DarXyde89d ago

RDR would be a great movie. If they allowed Martin Scorsese to work on it, I think it would be outstanding.

MajorLazer88d ago

RDR would work really well. From the GTA universe, IV would work really well because of how gritty and realistic the story is.
