Jay was forthcoming once again, with a lot of new details about how the skill trees will be arranged in the final game, and some encouraging words about the level of character customization their secret attribute tweaking item game will allow.

there was a foreign man screaming at me. just now. *unhappy*

jay was pretty evasive on the "any new item types" question.

- are there any new item types?
- yes

- besides the monk's fist weapons?

The Diablo 3 team always claims that they do itemization last, but they seem to have quite a bit done already, from all Jay had to say about it.

Some very juicy stuff this time, with the first word of Auras in D3, and new info about the other monk skills as well.

This is just the first of what's going to be about half a dozen installments of our huge interview. I can hardly wait for you guys to read them -- Jay revealed so much new stuff!

there are still mmos other than wow? why do they bother?

5318d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

they did reveal one version of the barbarian's tree months and months ago, and of course totally changed how the trees are set up and designed shortly afterwards, making that one screenshot totally obsolete.

Blizzard doesn't like to show the interfaces and such while the game's under development. which is silly when 20k fans play it at Blizzcon, but it's just how they are. these look as good as the real game ones do anyway. and all the info is exact and correct.

if you look in the thread linked from the post, a bunch of guys made the first one, for the barbarian, but then only Muldric had the stamina to turn out all 4 of them. good thing his looked so awesome.

Diii.net posted rough versions of these, created from notes and images they took at Blizzcon, and their artistic fans created the polished, visually-pleasing final results. A nice example of teamwork in the fansite community.

Good thing you didn't try to calculate the hours you've lost to WoW. You could have cured cancer by now. Or at least the nerd flu?

fans want d3 to look just like d2. but in 3d, and better. but not in a way that's better that's different than the way they want it to be better. it's quite simple, really.

perhaps if this one gets big enough, they'll make a 2nd rainbows and unicorns t-shirt, this one with insulting comments about the color of the clouds, drawn on with MS Paint?

No petitions this time, at least. Not yet, anyway.

just so long as bill roper implements his pr-fu at the trade events, I'm all there.

isn't "farmtown" an oxymoron? I mean unless you're growing like, hardware stores...

batman seems a uniquely american concept/hero. should the english be allowed to play it? the debate rages.

The last of the characters to be so lovingly covered. Lots of new, never before seen or discussed skills, and the real d3 fans enjoy coverage of the other characters, after so much of the blizzcon major press was just focused on the Monk.

All the skills, with hover descriptions and play testing notes. What more could you want?
