Yep ArchangelMike, especially if reviewers continue to attempt to promote their twitters and clickbait rather than offer a fair analysis.

This article, btw, was really, really, on point and refreshingly sensible.

This is f'ing clickbait. The Order is NOT a 4. Have some integrity.

This desperate seach for fame and attention in our society has become bizarre. People are willing to let go of all principles in exchange for a few more views, clicks or Twitter followers.

I'm not saying the game is a 10 or you have to like the same things I do, but scores 4 and below have been getting trotted out the past while because giving a decent AAA game a 5 or 6 has lost it&#...

We can't forget all the criticism this game will receive for not introducing "mindblowing shifts in how we perceive the concept of gameplay itself."

With the exception of a few critic favs, most current gen games are weighed down by the heavy expectation of providing "next gen gameplay." Which, btw, does not exist.

Gameplay has been evolving very slowly for a long time, for a reason, inventing revolutionary new styles is incredibly hard a...

Yeah man,

Plus, if you understand french, the VAST majority of points this game lost was for 'short length,' at 7 hours.

Yet, I personally don't see that as excessively short, and a lot of people don't.

I have an *enormous* backlog, I'm not desparate for a game to outstay it's welcome.

If you remove the "duration portion" of the score, which accounts for 25% according to their scale (and whe...

You spent over 5 hours watching someone play a game.

That is not a good use of time.

Like, outside of this discussion and all the trolling...

That's just a lot of time you could have used doing something else.

Hell, you could have bought the game at $60, played it week one and traded it for $35, or sold it for $50....that is a way better idea.

Exactly...

What people are unimpressed? Trolls? Most people have been saying how mindblowing it looks.

This culture is seriously getting absurd. On Gaf, some moron said he watched the entire 5:40 minute playthrough and didn't skip a minute. He then went on to say he would never waste his money on such a short game...

Yet he spent 6 hours *watching* a game...where do people find the time to take trolling to a professional level?

Part of the problem with a game like this, is reviewers play it in a bubble, with time pressure.

Play a game like this for a few weeks and enjoy it (I personally hated the alpha) and you might say "Wow, that's an 8 or 9!"

Yet...a lot of the value of a game like this comes from longevity. If people get bored of this by the time a month or two passes, then what good is IGN's 9 to a potential new buyer?

On the flipside, single ...

Many disagrees will result, not necessarily just from people thinking you are wrong, but in many cases people are tired of people criticizing excellent work in forums like they personally have no failings.

Notice how you have zero disagrees.

Game industry: Listen to this person.

Your stance makes no sense. Each game is for a different potential audience, most of which wouldn't even know of the existence of the other telltale franchises.

Most people aren't like us, with huge backlogs and an encyclopedic knowledge of games.

Telltale is striking while the iron is hot and that makes them smart.

Why are people constantly complaining that games aren't "revolutionary?"

There are very few revolutionary games, and most best selling games are evolutionary *at best*.

The expectations placed on the industry, by many, are actually completely illogical.

@AndrewLB...

Ummm...what?

Those examples, while nice looking, objectively fail to match the IQ seen in the Order screens.

You may prefer the art style, but people are talking about image quality here and that isn't nearly as subjective as art style.

The Order looks great, not sure what the point of denying that would be.

I don't understand complaining about graphics being celebrated in a thread *specifically* about graphics.

It would be like going on a house building forum about roofing and constantly saying "lest we forget, that without the foundation, the whole house would crumble!" Everyone would blink in confusion at such an odd statement.

Yet in gaming forums, going off topic is par for the course.

This game looks amazing. Will the gameplay hold up? Hopefully.

Will the reviews be fair? Hahahaha...no.

Why? Fanboyism? No. Corporate pandering? Nope.

It's simple, really. Most of the review outlets have totally jumped the shark. They are self important idiots that want so badly to seem like intellectual giants.

This game will probably sit in the mid 70's on Metacritic (tops) with the majority of reviews saying "th...

A sudden, measurable, drop in consumer confidence and interest will...better the industry?

In this investor obsessed industry?

Why do gamers believe this sort of thing?

A dramatic drop in preorders would lead to a dramatic drop in investment into future projects, particularly risky, creative ones.. That's basically the definition of 'bad for the industry.'

I get the point of the principled stance, but disagree wit...

Yeah, I love how the gaming media is so desperate to be relevant that they write articles about how some of the most popular and beloved games are "flawed" because they don't conform to some univeral idea of perfection, that accounts for the tastes of every popinjay in the universe.

The Uncharted games are fantastic in their own way and the best of their genre.

Why don't people play Tetris and say the "character motivation gets muddied...

The problem with MS at the moment right now is that a great November came on the heels of insane, unsustainable deals. If they could afford to drop the console by $50, give you 3 games, give you a ms store gift card and give you $100 when you trade in a 360 (arguably next to worthless on the market)...they'd be able to sell the console for less than $200, easily. They aren't.

All these "deals" are actually sales at a loss. They are unsustainable. They are a ...
