Yeah, Turn 10 are no strangers to the downgrade.

Gran Turismo - 90+ million units sold
Gets raked across the coals for having some 2D trees despite being made for VR and having multiple 120FPS modes for people on TVs.

Forza Intellectual Property (Motorsport and Horizon combined) - ~18 units sold.
Basically every single reviewer claims FM23 looks better and has more realistic physics than GT7. And even though FM23 is a complete and total mess on PC, is an always online game that require...

@Hypertention140
It's real. FM2-7 all use the highest resolution car meshes the game has only on the player car in photo mode. You can get full resolution models using the PC extreme setting, but again that only applies to the player car and the interiors are still not fully realized. This is why starting photomode incurs a lengthy load in all FM games.

That all said, the best car models in Forza Horizon 5 (amd by extention Forza Motorsport 2023) have car model...

Looks like PD has the potential to set the bar for closing out always online games.
Back when GT Sport launched you couldn't do anything when you couldn't access the servers, but it looks like GT Sport will retain access to SP race modes, custom races, VR, your full garage, and all tracks. This is much more than what was available at launch if offline.

We still will lose custom liveries and race suits, which is nonsense, but hey if you share them online now...

From Gran-Turismo.com (the article liked above): "All existing cars and personalized Car Settings kept in Garage will be accessible. Gameplay progression required as normal to unlock additional cars and items."

So... yes, as far as I can tell you'll still be able to use all your collected and purchased cars and race on all the tracks in the game and unlock ones you might not already have access to. That's what I'm getting from the post, but time will t...

Meanwhile from AMD: "A future new member of the AMD FidelityFX SDK
All our AMD FidelityFX technologies are included in the new AMD FidelityFX SDK we released in June, so we’re really excited that we will soon be adding FSR 3 to the FidelityFX SDK, alongside our existing FSR 1 and FSR 2 upscaling solutions.

In case you missed this news, the FidelityFX SDK makes it easier for you to integrate all our FidelityFX technologies (shaders and runtime code) into your D...

Improving civil infrastructure, which is what taxes were made to do in the first place. Yeah, taxes have a place. Government forgot what to do with our money when they discovered they can just take it and put it in their own savings account... they discovered that about 120 years ago in the U.S.

PS Portal is $200, which is $200 less than Steam Deck. Steam Deck can do more without another system, but Portal was never even suggested to be a PS5, it is just a gamepad for PS5 with a screen that streams content from your own PS5. Portal is what Steam Link is in the form of an actual stand-alone product of its own.

PSAS:BR is a totally different take on Smash. The gameplay loop is pretty similar overall, but how you score is completely different. Also Smash copied level merging from PSAS:BR... so, there is that.

Move was demoed years before the controller was made. Remember Richard Marks actually using everyday objects to manipulate virtual things in the game world? That was what Move was supposed to be... yeah that was in 2004! Two years before Wii launched, hm, who copied who. Even ...

If people hate Jim Ryan for GaaS games. That aggression is entirely misplaced. Hate mobile whales, this is why Nintendo - Yes, Nintendo! - and PS are making GaaS games now. MS may have gotten the ball rolling, but it was mobile games that hooked some really rich people into spending their life fortunes on fear of missing out aapects of live service games and ever since gaming has changed for the worse.

This is not Jim Ryan's fault and even if it was his idea to make 10 ...

And they buy that beatee of a car at new car MSRPs only to fix it to feel good about it. That's nice... but does anyone really enjoy being forced to do things like that?

PC gamers are forced to eat the chaff to get to the cream... and they all claim it's great.

@Profchaos
Aside from the price hikes coming earlier on PS... only for everyone to follow anyway including Nintendo who has massive prpfit margins.
What has Jim Ryan done that is so darned bad?

Name one thing. Just one.

Let me see...

Activision Blizzard:

Blur - dormant
Caesar - not sure what this is
Call of Duty - MEGATON
Candy Crush - mobile megaton
Crash Bandicoot - did well enough for a 4th entry... that being a continuation of a 25 year old franchise that originated on PS1.
Diablo - PC megaton-lite which does well enough to keep on keeping on.
DJ Hero - dormant
Empire Earth - not sure what...

PC gamers are a smaller crowd, they also buy less games and I don't mean they pirate all of their games, but pirating is an even bigger issue on PC. The fact is PC gamers may complain about game preservation... and then they also whinge and complain about how console gamers are missing out on forever games through emulation. You know if these clowns don't have a BD/DVD/CD drive they're not ripping their own library of old games, they're torrenting them from sites. They may hav...

The majority of Xbox gamers don't mind... the majority of PC users couldn't care less either, phone users haven't had physical game options for more than a decade now. Anyone else remember phone games sold on MicroSD cards? No, just me?

It really is down to PS and Nintendo users to keep physical game media alive.

"Controls are worse, sound is worse, graphics are worse, games are overall worse."
If we force phone users to utilize integrated controls only - the touchscreen alone - yeah those are in basically every single way significantly worse for gaming. Here's the problem... phone users are limited to touchscreens in most games.
Most phones can use the Nvidia Shield, and Xbox gamepads as well as DS4 and DualSense on newer phones with most if not all newer games support...
