Now THAT is game that failed at being scary. PC gamers must be a bunch of pansy-asses, because when it came to the 360 I couldn't have been more disappointed. All I ever heard was how it was the scariest game ever...and it never even made me FLINCH.
Dead Space was awesome though; not as scary as parts of Condemned, or Thief:DS (Shalebridge Cradle)..but pretty damn scary.
How exactly would releasing a BETA for an oft-delayed application for a RIVAL, affect MS's release of NXE in ANY WAY? That's the dumbest theory I've seen yet.
@ above...
MS only ANNOUNCED the NXE back at E3 '08, and will be launching it in 3 weeks. SONY announced Home back at E3 2006...almost 2-1/2 YEARS ago. DO NOT attempt to compare the two...Sony is fvcking up BIG time here.
Who is this "larry"? He's like a scared little girl, afraid someone might actually play Gears 2. Multiple posts, and EVERY ONE claiming the game "isn't AAA", "will get torn apart by reviewers", and "don't bother with it". Sounds like someone missed the A-train to the Open Zone. :o
...I'm saying KZ2 doesn't look AS GOOD as a last-gen XBOX title, in some areas. You fail at reading comprehension. People like you act like KZ2 is in the same league with Crysis...when it's BARELY comparable to many multiplatform titles already released, like COD4 and FarCry 2.
The thick, black "Tic-Tac-Toe" grid won't get old AT ALL. :o PC gaming is such a joke.
...they'll remember all the hype, and how the launch was botched...and how quickly the buzz died down, when people got bored with it.
Not surprising, since PS2 games were mostly jaggie-filled eyesores, with bad lighting, and no bump-mapping capabilities. That's why the XBOX versions of all MP games were superior to the PS2's...including BLACK.
Windows is "done", just like the gas-powered automobile.
Just because there is a more economical and functional alternative to something, doesn't mean it's immediately obsolete, or "dead". MS has had a world-wide monopoly on PC software/applications, and OS's for over 20 years; they aren't going away anytime soon...no matter how hard you wish.
I hope you don't think it was Treyarch...because you would be hilariously WRONG. :o
PC and 360 will be spared this BLACK look-a-like.
I take that back....BLACK had better lighting and explosions.
...don't be so hard on yourself, kiddo. :o
...it would have been an 8-hour point-&-click/quicktime event snoozefest...like Heavy Rain will be. Fable is in the ONLY hands that could make it the successful, enjoyable franchise it is.
...continues to waste money in the wrong places. Just like they blow millon$ on timed exclusives, and exclusive DLC, they've missed the boat with this opportunity. They SHOULD be spending money to hire a hit man to take out Jack(ass) Thompson, rather than helping to find the product of bad genes, and stupid parenting.
Anywho, I hope the kid is alive, and ends up in a foster home, so he can find a better family. :o
...I just might have to pick this up. I already have my launch 360, and a Halo 3 LE, but I may pick this up for the 60gb HDD, and sell the games at GameStop, or Amazon. 0_0
But, the PS3 is unhackable, right? :D Haha...what a joke.
WTF is with all the jaggies??? This looks like a PS2 game, in this video. o_0
EVERYTHING the author complains he was "mislead" about, was covered EXTENSIVELY in multiple interviews with Peter, and other LS employees. If you don't know what the fvck you're talking about...then don't bother commenting. Sheesh. :o
The glitch he mentions about an enemy getting stuck in a building, also happened with SM2 & SM3. Even though Treyarch didn't do this game, I have a feeling Shaba used the same engine.
...your post. :)
I don't need the PC version to know that it wasn't scary (to me). I played it on my 360, with a 55" Sony HDTV and Surround Sound headphones...IN THE DARK. My proximity to the screen...about 7 ft...is equal, in scale, to the experience of playing on a standard PC rig/monitor, at 2 ft.
F.E.A.R. just failed to interest me, let alone SCARE me. Much of the game was spent creeping around in the maintenance tunnels, with no enemies to fight, and only an occasional glimpse of...
