That seems like a poor excuse, since in Gears of War 2, you have horde mode, where you can have more than 30 enemies shooting at you (depending on how long you survive), and yet it still has the same great graphics.
It's clear from reviews that Resistance 2, while a moderately good game, is not in the same ballpark as Gears of War 2.
