STONEY4

My point is that I'm not gonna max a setting that's essentially broken, or at least was back when I was playing it. I turn up all the settings on Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 DX11, Max Payne 3 DX11, the original Crysis, and countless other DX11 titles because the settings in those games work how they're supposed to. If Arkham City's DX11 is working properly, then I'll go back an enable it for the trade in FPS. That's not a problem to me.

I'm not saying ...

"What are you on with STONEY4 you say arkham city isnt demanding and you dont turn on DX11 which was patched and sorted 6 months ago? If you arent running it close to maximum how can you even comment about how demanding it is? POINTLESS!"

Last time I played Arkham City was with the first patch that supposedly "fixed" DX11, and it was still doing the *high framerate, drop to 10fps for a second, high framerate* thing. I remember the performance being good wh...

My GTX 560 Ti also gets 45-60fps maxed out in DX9 (not sure if DX11 is still broken), 1080p, 8xCSAA, Physx, and V-sync. If I lower the AA, it doesn't go below 60fps at all. Arkham City isn't that demanding of a game, at least in my opinion since it's a mid-range GPU and not all that high-end.

Battlefield 3's teal and orange is not an artstyle. It's bad color grading.

All the lighting is real-time with global illumination. The engine won't use baked lighting at all. Plus the insane amount of particle effects.

360 launch games looked like HD PS2 games. Some of them actually looked worse, like that "Gun" game in that link. Amped 3 looks worse than SSX 3, apart from the resolution.

I do remember being impressed though every time I walked into a Best Buy and saw the King Kong 360 demo. That was probably the best looking early 360 game.

I didn't even know this guy founded Naughty Dog. He has a pretty good direction for THQ though, despite just stepping in. THQ's management has been terrible.

What...? Saint's Row The Third's style and direction is easily the best thing that has happened to Saint's Row.

In the full version of the engine tour, he's walking around the whole area in first person view. He even does some jumping.

I can't imagine Crysis 4 being a F2P game. I really can't.

It's not even just the price. The 7970 produces a ton of heat and consumes a ton of power. There's no way that thing is going into a console-sized box, unless you want an oven.

Most PC games with controller support use 360 button icons.

"Hashimoto couldn't specify when Luminous-powered games will hit the market, but he smiled and said, "It won't be that far from now."

While this is the next-generation of Square Enix's game engines, Hashimoto said the engine can also be adapted for current-generation consoles, but stopped short of confirming a current generation Luminous Studio game."

Part of it is used for Versus on PS3 already, according to someone who attend...

"i would normally agree with you. but have you ever tried to play a ubisoft game on pc? it's awful. they don't know how to optimize."

It really varies game-by-game. Far Cry 2 is one of their best, no complaints with Rayman Origins, and Assassin's Creed's ports have been getting better with each game. I heard Driver was a decent port too. They're starting to lay off on the DRM too lately.

Then you have the bad ones like Splinter C...

Tomb Raider had me last year, but now... I don't know. They're say trying to be realistic, but you're telling my Lara can activate a parachute, have the wind carry her at the speed of light through a narrow forest line for what seems like over a mile, then land at exactly where she needs to go? And she gets impaled with something every couple of minutes, then soon after, acts like nothing happened.

It's looking like another *shoot a few people, set piece, shoo...

Developer said it was running on an engine based off of UE3. So it's really just a heavily modified UE3, kinda like what Bioshock did with UE 2.5.
