You're friend's a dumbass then... Selling his PS3 because he didn't like one game? What's his thought process, is he even a real gamer? Or was just just scared that there are too many PS3 games coming this year that he can't afford them all?
Last time any report was made on manufacturing costs they had them cut in half and only were losing $40 per console. That was quite a while ago in 2008. The gaming division had a profit in 2008 albeit a small profit.
Sony has always lost money on their consoles and I think the drop will be enough to gain many more users that it will counter act the losses.
This will render the Arcade 360 useless. Everyone knows it's extremely gimped and not worth it and if it's only ...
Oh wait, they won't... They'll simply go from "PS3 needs a price cut" to "The price cut was not enough". :D That's the media for you, it doesn't matter what Sony does they will still harp on their console.
Confrontation is not really any worse than previous Socoms and it is better than S3 and Combined Assault. I mean sure it sucked at first, but they fixed the lag. Did everyone forget about Socom 2's massive amounts of glitches, hackers, and bugs?
Although Slant 6 really did drop the ball and the game still doesn't include features that were promised since the launch, I'll just be happy for when the DLC arrives(late).
It's irrelevant huh? How many years have we had to listen to Xbox fans claiming how PS2 was only first in sells because it was released a year earlier? Obviously that was ridiculous, but considering the PS3 has a higher yearly average than the 360 and was selling more last year before the price drop, the fact it came out a year later is not nullified.
How does this back up the EB rumor? It's an 80 gig for $399. Had it been a 160 gig it definitely would have backed it up, but why release a bundle on the standard model at the same price and not lower the 160 gig? Although the bundle is nice, it's the equivalent of one brand new game at $60.
Well can someone explain to me why they would drop the price now? The big hitter early this year is already out, the next big hit(inFAMOUS) isn't out till June and to me it would just make SO much more sense to drop the price in October where they would get the most out of their price cut.
Despite the good score, I stopped reading the review after the first couple of sentences. Pretty dumb how they go on and on how it's not perfect or the best, etc... :| You could have said that about any shooter this gen if you really wanted to nitpick hard on them.
Co-op works in some games, but I will *censored*Poo*censored* bricks if they add it to Uncharted 2 or God of War 3. It would absolutely ruin those games unless they find some magical way to implement it without having Co-op restricting gameplay.
This game was bad when it launched. It is bad no more and I think gamers are just more tough critics now days because people loved Socom 2 for how fun it was despite having just as many problems as Confrontation had. Socom 2 was littered with bugs, hackers, etc but everyone still loved it then.
When was the last time the Wii had any decent hit games? January 2008? Brawl? I haven't seen one since over a year ago. I just don't get it, if this were a Microsoft or Sony console everyone would be complaining over it having no games and it wouldn't sell. Does this suggest that games don't sell systems anymore?
Nintendo was doing great with the GameCube, but it's like they abandoned what made them great just to become #1. :(
Lol, just lol. The only fanboy comment I've seen on this article so far is yours. I've seen some saying that they would like a price cut, but none have said that it absolutely needs to happen and none have said they won't be supporting PS3 because of the price. There has been no heat, just publishers saying what they'd like. I won't even bother with the rest of your comment. LOL
I'm sorry I worded that wrong, I meant to say it's on its way to breaking even very soon. This old article from December shows that they're only $40 in the red on every PS3 compared to $200 from when they started selling them in 2006. With how well Blu Ray has been doing, it's just driving the cost of the technology even further and I wouldn't be surprised if they do break even in Spring. That's why I don't think they'll drop the price. It would make much more sense to wait till October for t...
I think not... PS3 is just starting to break even, I doubt they'll be lowering the price soon. It would make no sense either. Why lower it now when it wouldn't move the most possible consoles? My guess is it'll be lowered in October for the holiday rush.
What publishers exactly have been crying out? I haven't read anything like that. This article is fooey, imo, and misleading. They quote EA but fail to mention that EA made most of their profit on PS3. :D Come on, what is with this trash?
Since the beginning of 2008 I saw everyone saying 2008 will be the year of the PS3 and I disagreed. Why? Because if 2008 was the year of the PS3, then it would just be all downhill after that and that's why 2009 won't be the year of the PS3 either. 2010 will be better than 2009 and 2011 will be better than 2010. :D Mark my words...
I'm a Sony fan, but I'm not naive enough to believe MS doesn't have any big hitters this year(halo aside). I do believe they'll be announcing stuff at GDC and E3, but then again so will Sony. I highly doubt every game this year has been revealed for Sony.

It says there's evidence, where is the evidence?

Controls were the same as RE4... It wasn't the controls that were bad, it was the game.

Killzone 2 rules!
