I love third person shooters but hate live service games.
Tell me how the last two generations has been good to me? Because I feel like a loser.
No, it isn't.
Companies are competitive with each other. When the consumer acts on behalf of a company, it creates packs of cheerleaders who will let their respective company get away with murder.
It is not competitive, not is it good for the market or the consumer.
This is the opposite of what fanboyism is.
Fanboys accept the flaws of any business because they're too busy judging things as shallowly as "blue Vs green, Sony Vs Microsoft."
Fanboyism only leads to overspending on games you don't want. It also lets companies get away with bad business practices i.e. how Xbox loves a live service game and Sony is kowtowing to that industry trend... soon it'll be the same two sets of fanboys arguing over which predatory live service is better between Sony and Xbox, instead of talking about why live service games are bad for the industry and the consumer.
Fanboyism is anti-comsumer.
The language is what scares me the most.
"Innocent bystander."
It's not the Boston Bombing, it's sad nerds arguing about stuff they can't afford.
THIS. Exactly this.
Lonely nerds choosing a fake war between businesses over having a life.
They're lonely and strange.
No no
They're excited for the review scores.
They're actually putting the playing jeopardy.
Behindtherows
Yeah that's a good example. Usually they're Switch ports of sports games. Most games get high scores simply for being AAA these days.
MrNinosan
Because 80 is still 10 arbitrary points below 90 and still an INCREDIBLE SCORE.
Also why have you forgotten third parties, and Steam and Nintendo im your weird list of AAA games?
There's always the village idiot writing things like "you're pretending to be better individual"
That only says that you're a beta who would crumble under the weight of massive wealth. You would fail those around you because that's what the weakest humans always do.
So what? If you have to lay off, then by the grace of capitalism, your studio heads are not worth what they are said to be worth.
It's enough to keep certain staff members on
I know.
It's the style of gameplay that I like due to how much I played MP1 and mostly 3.
I want to say better, but that's not the trajectory of the average AAA games company nowadays.
Sony is the best AAA story-driven game developer out there at the minute and Jim Ryan was trying to take that away. Imagine if he wasn't doing enough for the powers that be over there?
I agree. I've just pre-ordered the game this morning and these days are the most annoying due to fanboys from either side fighting over which rich videogame company gets better reviews.
People are writing about how "excited" they are. Why excited? It's a AAA game, they rarely score low in this broken industry. The biggest news companies like IGN fawn over AAA games regardless of quality, and the only thing that can come from "extensive coverage"...
Are there any triple A games that get less than 80 nowadays anyway?
If all the breakage of a review embargo can get you is possible spoilers for the game, why are you excited?
You are right that Fairgame$ has a similar premise, but Hyena's goes after a specific subclass of the wealthy that no other does.
Also we are talking about games published by Sega, fair game is not. There is no such thing as "too many" in this industry. Sony is literally creating multiple live service games as we speak despite the fact that they will cannibalise each other and only one will win.
Max Payne 3 is my 2nd favourite game ever. I cannot wait for these remakes.
VIRGIN ALERT.
