There is nothing wrong with being hyped as long as you keep your expectations in check. I for one am excited to see what GG can do with this new IP.

The ps2 is best selling system of all time it's not surprising that it also has the biggest game library. Sales numbers don't automatically mean quality but in the ps4's case they do.
Nobody talked about the Wii's sales numbers because anyone with insight could tell you that it's target audience was not entirely gamers. The proof is in the pudding those sales are misleading because all you have to do is look at the WiiU to understand that many Wii owners where not gamers at all.
Maybe he's just not into gaming anymore it happens as you get older you have more responsibilities and different priorities. It's his opinion so I take it with a grain of salt one which I don't agree with there are plenty of awesome games to play. Yes if you have been gaming for a long time you could be cynical over the state of gaming but there are also many positives and gaming is more diverse and interesting today than it has ever been.
The thing is that Sony has always been a video game industry leader ever since Nintendo failed to maintain their lead. MS has tried but has fallen short every single generation a big part of the reason is that they are to focused in the US and UK markets which leaves Sony open to take the rest. I don't think MS will ever over take Sony in terms of world wide appeal because Sony has had generations to foster and nurture these markets.
Agreed support CD Project Red because they are awesome Cyberpunk 2077 is a game I'am looking forward to.
I think they are talking more about smaller to mid sized studios that would befit from Sony's resources. Sony already has some very talented studios but I can see them adding a few more Quantic Dreams comes to mind maybe supermassive. Sony has close relationships with many Independent developers which I think it's part of the ps4 success.
WOW 250 after two years at this rate by next holiday season it should be 200 bucks that was fast considering how long the WiiU has been on the market and it's still managed maintain it's price tag.
To many games I will definitely have to be picky about which ones I choose to spend my time and money on but I guess that's a good problem to have.
To me it was OK nothing earth shattering a few new good announcements overall just OK. Now if you where expecting E3 2015 type of bombs then you would be disappointed but I suspect Sony still has some hidden aces up their sleeves.
Tomb Raider should definitely be on this list sales wise it flopped.
This definitely sucks but if you are a smart consumer you can get great deals. I pick up more than a few great games all under 20 bucks during black Friday that have all gone back to normal price.
So much spin surrounding this game the initial numbers are bad no other way to look at it. To the point that a month into the games release they had to drastically reduce the price to stimulate sales you don't do that unless it's under performing, It's simple supply and demand.

Sony is still dominating more diversity equals to broader appeal yet some continue to dismiss some games available on the ps4.

I think it's perception but they need both a power and support to make it successful. Many third party developers are scared to put their games on Nintendo because there is a perception that they won't sell. Gamers want to buy games on Nintendo but why would they if they always get a gimped versions of the game.
"Console Wars" have existed since the beginning of gaming the difference is that now anyone can voice their opinion. Opinion pieces from bloggers or even so called gaming journalist that have no objectivity. There is no doubt in my mind that their are so many people with agendas that it is hard to sift through so much garbage.
