Really, UC2 and UC3 do plenty in places that UC4 doesn't try to get to the scale of in terms of longevity of scene aside from the 4x4 levels. Helicopter chase across rooftops and tank chase in UC2, parkour and boat graveyard in part 3 are 2 are my picks of the entire series. Before long a more measured assessment of each Uncharted game will come. Overall, I feel part 2 is the most required play for story, pacing, gunplay, setting.

That one letter what passes for wit so so sharp and insightful worthy of being a comment at all, let alone the 'opening shot'?

No you made a fool of yourself in insulting Remedy by saying that. Quantum Break's up close facial animation outside of cinematics is judged by some as best of generation. Lighting and design too gives a modern scifi look. It all depends what you're after. Who definitively says that a photograph I take is worth more than a primitive Picasso style?

You really don't sound like you've played Quantum Break. If I'm correct, that makes you prejudiced. QB won't have got some 9 , even 9.5 out of 10 reviews, just for nothing. Certainly from videos it looks to me that Remedy have unevenly distributed graphical impressiveness during the game but the best looking parts look nice.

Why so much sustained hate, magnified and with barely a morsel of explanation why, in any comment praising QB ? You are cruel people, ...

Forgive me but I'm beginning to wonder if Uncharted 4 just 'feels' like a 9.5/10 on first playthrough because of the freshness of the story and observing the humour, pathos (I adore Elena in this) and making leaps in to the unknown, including on setpieces, for the first time. I can play Half Life 2 today and still think it's up there because of difficult to replicate combat mechanics. In other words, once you've played single player Uncharted 4, the next playthrough is nev...

Hitman's Sapienza level is a pretty polished thing. Just a shame that you can't actually swim or use a boat on it but that's realistic stealth for you.

To be honest, it could have used a few more big setpieces though. Not important on first play through but for replayability it does help to have that very big action moment to spur you on down tracks you've already been down, even if you can choose to go left or right. Uncharted 2's helicopter chase across rooftops and Uncharted 3's cruise ship and boatyard are not feeling dated and foolish by UC4's release. With a bit more time, vehicle attacks could have formed more of Uncha...

And Ratchet and Clank is like a reskinned Sonic Adventure 2 that's not as good as Banjo Kazooie, certainly for platform game purists. So it's like comparing two pretenders anyway. Banjo Kazooie did sufficiently different from Mario 64 to feel like a different kind of game whilst not losing its purity as a platformer. The only mandatory shooting in BK is in a very few sections with eggs / fruit and it sticks to classic platformer themes instead of pseudo scifi.

Uncharted 2 actually has brilliantly choreographed gunplay. Certainly 'not enough Sully' for Sully fans but an otherwise great game with the best 'rollercoaster action' flow of all Uncharted games, aided by the constant menace of the most brutal looking villain and the persistent threat from helicopter and tank in some seriously detailed urban meets holiday locale settings giving it a bona fide hardcore shooter feel as a game (even though it's actually the easiest overall)...

I wouldn't say Bethesda are mediocre. Or that Irrational / 2K were.

ND got the graphics. ND got the conversation. But character relationship wise, Druckman and Draley don't seem to have ever had a lot of time for Sully. That was left to Drake's Fortune and UC3. Sully must have a driving force so why, 4 games later, don't I know what it is other than 'bad relationship with father, surrogate kind of father to Nate'? How can a supposed ladies man never be seen in the arms of one? I wouldn't be surprised if Sully's got confidence / sel...

People , Last of Us's multiplayer is unexpectedly brilliant. But because UC4 tries so much to be like it, UC4 multiplayer is only worth playing for Plunder for me. UC2 and UC3 simply had better MP maps and were more Uncharted. You can't mix TLOU , Uncharted and Mystiicals without the game offering so many options that it's impossible to tell whether to be stealthy or guns blazing in any scenario. Because of the inclusion of grappling hooks, practically no-one swims underwater too....

What I want to know is what have Druckman and Draley got against Sully who was barely in UC2 and whilst he was in UC4 it was hardly a deep character relationship.

Young Sully's story should be number one. He's had his heart broken by women - he's a kind man who puts on a bravado and grows a moustache for protection. I think he's massively complex and possibly failed by his schooling.

Please just make UnKarted Naughty Dog. We don't have new Motorstorms so there's a gap.

That's an insightful point. A few things I think combine to make even a rollercoaster of a game have that soothing effect:

1 Sully. He's been there, done that. His deep tones suggest adventuring can make you confident and mature like a fine wine. He's like a father figure .

2 Sound design .Ranges between triumphant and mysteriously ambient inbetween the intense parts.

3 Other characters regularly check how you're doing a...

It wasn't satire. I have no idea why The Washington Post put genuine reviews in a 'Comic Riffs' section, leading an N4G to mark it as satire. Did you actually read the review? What part looks like satire , even bad satire, to you? Not having the same opinion as many is not satire.
