But the PS3 losses haven't wiped out the PS2 profits, that's just silly.
And MS certainly hasn't brought off any brilliant long-term strategy, they are losing this generation glorified 2600 connected to a waggle-stick. The PS3 and XBox360 are pretty much even in terms of sales now that the PS3 has been released everywhere.

Hmmm. That's a good point. If there were a gaming area with rooms dedicated to specific games, that could be an interesting way to meet gaming partners. As long as I didn't have to walk up to people in the central area and ask them to play, while they dance and ignore me, I can see the general idea.
Like I said, it's probably just because it's still a beta that there isn't anything I like doing. I've spent a total of only 20 minutes in Home so far and I wasn't very satisfied aft...
I have to admit that I don't see the point of home. Maybe it'll get better when it's fully released, but the beta kind of...well, to be honest, it kind of sucks.
There's nothing I can do in home that I can't do on the net quicker and easier.
I love this game, but I do wish I could choose my server. I wish it had the BF2 lobby, basically. The lag sucks sometimes.

Right. Because repeating the same levels 8 times, on maps one tenth the size of Bad Company's, with no vehicles, with "perks" that just unbalance the game, and replay cams that make it stupidly easy to find snipers who are supposed to be hard to find is SO much better.
Bad Company requires tactics, or at least teamwork, while COD4 requires running around until time runs out.

I didn't mean that COD4 was a bad game, but I think it benefited by being the only good FPS out at the time.
As to what other games did things better, I'd say off hand Unreal Tournament for speed, Battlefield 2 (and it's mods) for realism/modern combat style, and HALO for out and out fun.
Seriously, I think COD4 is almost unmatched in its singleplayer story, at least for an FPS, it's just that the multiplayer wasn't anything new.
