Publishers need to STFU!!! First they complain about sony need to drop the price, then complain when they try to make money somewhere so they CAN drop price!! What more do you want??
But i think this is one of the advantages to paying for xbox live. With PSN, the publisher, or dev foot the bill for online development, and not ALL studios can afford it, but MS has TOO MANY other restrictions that i think are equally problematic, i dont understand why the publishers are upset. you whine about PS3 need to drop price, well STFU and let sony make money in other areas so that they can AFFORD to do it just to shut you guys up!!!..........just my two cents :P

Or how many sites use for for streaming video because its faster than flash with large files (movies)??? Im still going to buy it lol, but thats one thing i dont get about sony, they announce games 2-3 years befor they come out, then dont advertise them until they are just about on the shelves. WTF??? For the last time, it that 50 million was a LOAN that MS made to Rockstar!!!! and conditions of that LOAN were to provided the 2 expansions as form of repayment. if the 2 expansions combined dont make 50million, then rockstar has to REPAY microsoft the difference, if it exceeds 50million (which it will) then after the 50million, the standard fee (70% developer/30% Microsoft) applies. Microsoft didnt blow anything because they didnt stand to lose a dime!!!

Bioshock was released for PS3 this quarter, that explains the jump.
Same thing is said about Microsoft every year, but it is well known that they rarely announce games more than a year before they come out. We were saying this at the end of 2007 yet the had a good year in 2008, not better than PS3, but obviously enough to compete. So why dont we stop speculating until next year is here.........or at least until E3 2009
and blu-ray uses VC-1 compression technology which is/was developed by Microsoft so they get a cut of sales as well lol
As long as the PS3 is @ $399 they will be 3rd in sales. Thats not to say that it wont sell 200k a month, but $199 is more attractive to casuals, and they are the ones who buy consoles during the holidays and at this stage in the life cycles. Sony wont lower price because they are going for profitability, and i understand that. its not about "winning" anymore, its about Sony's obligations to stockholders.
