This is all crap, there is no historical perspective to judge 2007 games compared to classics. Personally, I found it too be good, but not exceptional.
The author single argument is that he and his friends didn't like it too much and got bored with it quickly. And so have many XBox 360 and PS3 customers. Statistics could build up an argument such as this, personal experiences means nothing in a big market with different kind of customers.
Considering third support, the lower development costs means Wii games are profitable with considerably less sales than PS3 and 360 ones. As such, third party companies are making good money ...
Score values in game reviews don't mean anything anyway. Ten, eleven, what's the difference? The reviewer found the game great, probably beyond his expectatives of what a 10 would be. In his reasoning, Mario Super Galaxy got an eleven because it is superior to the other games that received a ten. It is easier to give a 11 than to re-evaluate every score he gave in the past.
I have no interest in playing Manhunt and I don't think kids should be allowed to play it. That said, I couldn't care less if other adults are enjoying it or not, despite the fact I find it tasteless. Perhaps, a better approach would be to enforce vendors to not sell this game to under age customers.
I know I am minority but I really dig WW2 games, they can't make enough of them to please me.
Those are good points. The way I see it is unfair to chart the software ratio for all three machines as they were introduced in different dates. I would like to see how was x360 ratio about a year ago and compare it to the Wii and PS3. A graph showing its evolution in time would be enlightning. If Captain Turtle is right, it was higher but not that much from the competition, especially as it was the only next-gen console available at that time. As Wii and PS3 should have a much stronger lineu...
Actually, he is right in all accounts. Doom and Halo are all FPS and they don't fundamentally change in any meaningful way, although Bushnell correctly praises Halo production value. Regarding GTA, he didn't said anything about the game itself, but about the real problem of kids been allowed to buy and play it, despite being branded as a mature game.
Also, regarding third party support, the Wii is a good business to them. Nintendo have the bulk of the business as I might speculate they would have if they dedicate themselves to other platforms. Still, considering that, according to NAMCO, it is necessary to sell 500.000 copies to make money with the PS3, only 4 games achieved that mark, 2 from third party publishers. Assuming the same development costs to the 360, we will find that 44 games got that mark, 36 of them from independent publis...
In Brazil:
Wii: US$ 990
PS3: US$ 1031 (80GB) 935(60GB)
360: US$ 1375 (includes 3 games PGR3,Kameo & Perfect Dark Zero)
DS: US$ 384
PSP: US$ 461
PS2: US$ 253
Microsoft officially launched the 360 whereas Nintendo appointed an official importer that also grants support to Wii and DS. Both are significantly more expensive than the Sony products, for which there is no official support.
The Gamecube price was kind of ok, as it was produced in Brazil under license from Nintendo. The problem is that now all consoles are import and pay heavy taxes as superfluous items. Even the 360, which was officially released in Brazil, pay heavy import taxes. In fact, the article got all wrong. Taxes for imported electronic goods are more about 270%, although there is a bill being under consideration at the congress that will reduce it for just 60%. That would be much better!
The great thing about these controls is to make the teams to play as teams. I didn't ever have this experience with FIFA. I am very excited about this game.
The fact is, nobody does have the facts and thus all we hear it is speculation. Quite frankly, I'm 40 years old and I always loved playing games. However, my PS2 have not seem as many action in the four years I owned it as my Wii. The gesture controls are just perfect to people that like to play games but doesn't has the time or the commitment to master complicated controls.
Even considering I don't care much for pretty graphics -- gameplay rules all the way -- I do agree that ...
I couldn't care less for the actors, but I really liked the addition of the Miis. Yeah, they look ridiculous, but it is a lot of fun to play with them among friends. This game in now on my shopping list.
Nintendo never claimed the Wii to be even close in computing power than the ps3 or the xbox 360. And quite frankly, to most customers, it doesn't matters. If anything it showed that controllers were the main barrier to many people to play videogames. Many of my friends that never cared for a videogame are interested in the Wii. Even my father liked the idea, and he always told me videogames are a waste of time.
Personally, I don't consider any other videogame, as the Wii contro...
As much as I enjoy playing FPS games I as much as liked the original HALO, I fail to understand how many people find it to be something trully exceptional. I guess it is because I don't have much interest in multiplayer games.
Anyway, with a campaign so short, it looks like something to buy second-hand or to borrow from a friend. Even so, I have to wait for the PC version anyway.
I am not sold yet. Twice they avoided the question about the graphical quality of the Wii version. They might be 480p, but it would still look like crap if they use the PSP textures.
Unlike the author, I will not assume my position is representative of the majority of Wii owners. But I do agree with his plead.
Bug cleaning. No big matter but I like the fact Nintendo is taking the trouble of keeping everything clean.
Perhaps is the poor quality of the video, but I failed to see any real difference between the versions.
But then, it is possible that Wii graphics are good enough to most people or that they actually prefer fun games (I would rather play a fun game than a unfunny one). In any case, the Wii is not for you, I got it. However, it is time you should start considering that your taste is not shared by the majority.
By the way, I hope PS3 will do good. I used to have a PS2 and I got a lot of mileage from it.
