Mine has been running for over 7 weeks straight now 24/7, 0 overheats, I game watch movies and when I'm not It folds. But other than the 1 picture from TGS how many overheating PS3's have you seen?
But MS may be intentionally waiting on that, to offset the 1.05 billion for their extended warranty, until they have a better estimate of how much of that money they will really be needing to use.
But remember POG that even at 499 the PS3's price point is Higher than ALL of the 360's 3 SKU's. Meaning that whenever Sony does have a "real" price-drop (i.e. making sure there is always a SKU in the 499 or less pice range) they will be closing the gap despite having a stunted list of games. As more "must have" games roll out it will be even easier to close that gap.
Is why I liked it when you only knew a new game was coming 3-4months before it was done.

80GB becomes the standard after the 60GB sells out in all teritories
When only 80GB models are left there will be a price drop on it and will be marketed as the budget SKU.
And the new SKU will premier either just before or just after the holiday season to be either 120 (as per the rumor) or 160 (strictly to say they have outdone the elite)
