I've read the preview in the magazine. Absolutely nothing there says it's coming this year, complete speculation on their part. It even says " While Microsoft considers it a 2014 title, later rumors suggested that this might refer to a beta rather than the final game.". Just a few new concept art images. Typical cover page eye grabber by OXM.
Because it'd be hard to explain those species if the game is a prequel. Why didn't we see them before during the previous trilogy? New species were added on in sequels, in ME2 we were introduced to the Drell, Vorcha, and Yahg.

The idea that having a female lead somehow makes the character or story instantaneously better is pushed all the time on the internet, I don't understand.
It's all up to the writers. I don't see how making the character a female automatically makes it "awesome". It changes nothing.
Hopefully EA can realize that an 'always online' connection benefits absolutely no one. No clue why this game even needed it, the previous SimCity games were incredible without it.
Or they just shouldn't have made the damn thing require an internet connection in the first place. WHAT BULL****, people buy your game to play and can't even play it.

Only 3x the 360? No blu-ray drive? The components are in a 360 Slim case? Why not a dev unit like the PS4?

I own a 360 and PS3, and consider myself a pretty big Xbox fan.
Even then, I will flock to the PS4 immediately if all the crap about the new Xbox turns out true. Not a doubt in my mind. I'm all about the games and services, and if Microsoft decides banning used games and requiring a constant internet connection is the way to go, to the PS4 is the way I'll go :)
It was announced as a 2014 title. I'm not Nostradamus, I had no idea about a delay.
