with death stranding, traveling without fast travel is fun. in spiderman, traveling without fast travel is fun. There are a number of games that make movement fun.

I think a lot these articles share the same sentiment of missing fun in the way you travel. Clearly starfield isn't fun to travel through, nor does it look like they tried to make travel fun. It certainly is an RPG first and no one wants boring lengthy travel. But they are missing a key element that is core ...

read the article. Then maybe you will understand the point he is making, and how it relates to the sales of game consoles.

i think theoretically think SBMM can be a good thing. but in practice, It makes the game very frustrating for me. I too am suffering from sbmm induced high ping which is utter bullshit. I imagine rebalancing the system to have ping be higher priority than even skill would be a better solve. almost splitting the groupings of lobbies into smaller ping-based regional markets.

this is quite a political issue.
Anti SBMM - standard matchmaking rules for all players, high skill players shine in almost every lobby, low skill players get murked
result: high skill players keep playing, low skill players fall off, community shifts to mostly hardcore audience
Pro SBMM - dynamic matchmaking rules base on skill level, every player will have a challenging lobby
result: larger range of players keep playing, high skill players may leave to ot...

to quote the clarification on the article "The specific example regarding the Ghillie suit is a little bit different given the fact that’s an in-game item that drops in each game, and can’t be purchased via a loot box. However, the section in question refers to cosmetics of all kinds and does not only apply to the Ghillie suit in question, but all cosmetics elements of the game. So while they used that example in that section to point out how cosmetics effect gameplay, the overall statem...

this is not to handicap players... i believe this is meant to keep players playing.... if a game is too difficult the majority of the audience will stop playing, if it is too easy players lose engagement due to the lack of a challenge. When i have the most fun playing a single player game is when the difficulty is challenging but i can complete it and see the end of the game. The times i have the most fun playing online is when i'm equally matched with another team. this method is to cate...

why is the standard edition $79

@highlife for performance, it's not optimal to have a larger draw distance. so technically, they unoptimized the rendering distance for better visuals. its a trade off, low fps or shitty rendering. they must have optimized the console elsewhere in order to unoptimize the rendering and maintain the same fps.

it may come across as bad taste. But i believe the devs are trying to create something in the "VR Journalism" space. look it up. there are a few award winning VR journalism games.

As controversial as it may be, experiences like these are gaining traction because the future of journalism could be told in virtual experiences like these. The purpose would be not to undermine the sensitivity of the situation, but to provoke more conversation, empathy, and a more accurate d...

it means you don't need to have experience working on a game that has shipped and made money. You just need to have experience working on games. like small projects.

I've played this game at IndieCade and I had a blast! It's a definite buy for me. And for many of my friends it was their justification for buying an ouya(which it was originally exclusive for). It's a crazy fun co-op game that'll have you screaming at your buddies or, if you're good, reveling in their loss.

it's sad that this is good news. They really need to up their game and innovate. Ghosts is looking to be the weakest next-gen title.

when i saw it leaked to the web i could have sworn it was a fake and i hoped it was too. the video looked unprofessionally done (imo) and it didn't excite me as much as the mp trailer for mw2 and bops did.
