Nintendo be like: Hey, this Wii thing isn't working out. No one likes the controls. We should fix this. Hey I know! Let's move our stuff onto another platform that has quite the technical chops but is absolutely horrible with controls! Everybody is gona love tapping and dragging!
If Nintendo is willing to put their IP on other devices besides their own, well there's PS4 and X1 waiting :)
Can you play MMO's on phones? I don't know but SE is probably gona try to make that happen :)
The likelihood of this materializing in "real life" is pretty low. SLI setups today, with the same graphics hardware, are already a crap shoot.
Not only does each game require a special driver profile to even work, but even once you have that, 'work' is often different than 'works well'.
Ultra 64... man, the memories that are coming back.
My friend ended up getting it close to when it came out. Myself... yeah, I ended up getting the Jaguar some time later; but AvP was awesome at least :)
Yeah, until I see how VR works with non-FPS/car-sim/flight-sim type games like 3rd person or games with lots of camera movements I'll be skeptical.
Get back to me when a person in FPS VR can complete a somewhat complicated portal/portal 2 puzzle in real time.
The screen refreshes at 120Hz. Games that fail to meet that will be provided similar treatment to 24fps TV when you use the 60fps option on "smart" TVs (soap-opera effect)
For those that have used VR, how do you think it will apply to non-FPS genres? Will it work well for 3rd person or top-down games?
Also, titles like Hellblade (according to their dev diary) are prototyping various character movement systems and much of it looks to be non VR friendly. I wonder if the added realism of restricting the camera movement for VR will have good gaming ramifications outside of FPS and flight/racing sim games.
Besides being small, what was wrong with GZ? It had a lot of the mechanics already in place: stealth, gunplay, cqc, AI, mission structure, and weather.
It was a very solid groundwork to build from and we'd already seen some of the other environments earlier than that already. I'm actually very surprised that the release date itself hasn't been announced yet.
With the ability to beat the latest raid solo on hard, yeah why not?
In the past, I've played Gears horde mode getting through to Wave 50 several times with a bunch of randoms.
That's a mode that has no definitive reward at the end... considering this is a freakin Raid, a bunch of randoms know what they're getting into.
Folks on forums like these convinced themselves and others that it was nixed but the official word was always:
- apps are coming, which implies a much lowered barrier to running things on the console for development
- we have some security things to address and it might take some time
It's possible that some other user had already alerted them to this fact and they just bulk refunded everyone.
Remember also that as soon as a human becomes involved in support, it costs a company a lot of money. It's in everyone's best interest for their support to take pre-emptive action across the user base to reduce call volume.
There's been a few occurrences of this some time back in the Xbox One preview program. If you're a member of that program, please participate and send in those reports.
Nothing recent though...
It may expand, but not in the way you imagine it. Penny arcade did a funny comic on it way back: http://penny-arcade.com/com...
Destiny's lore is a bunch of made up words thrown together coupled with a few purposely obtuse and nonsensical sentences written on some virtual cards by someone they hired late into development.
So yeah, it'll expand, just in all the wrong wa...
An emulator is fine. However, ideally folks would buy the games/ROMs instead of torrenting them...
Well the card does have 4gb so they got that going for them which is nice :)
It would be like a car advertised at 400hp but in reality only gets 370hp (350 at full speed plus 20 because the other 50 horses are a little lazy)
This is a firmly tongue in check post btw...
Not yet. They simply don't have to as of Feb 2015, and at $400, is still a fantastic deal for the performance and incoming game catalog.
twinfinite is the worst. I asked before but no one responded - Is there a way to block all news stories coming from a particular source just for my view?
There's still an awful lot of functional limitations in what VR can offer for many experiences.
Take a look at Oculus's and Epics guide to everything you _can't_ do in VR related to world scale, camera movement, and motion in general:

AA and other post processing makes it difficult to count what is a real pixel from the original image and what has been blurred/averaged with neighboring pixels etc. Then, on top of that, the image directly from the back of the console is 1080p already because of the hardware upscaler.
