Glad some people know who he is, at least...

360 gen... anything this guy said would've been carved into stone...He MADE UE3, he is WHY Gears of War blew everyone away at the timell..the primary ammo that camp used against competition...

and now they abandon him...If you could filter Xbox down to just a handful of people that kept it alive for a decade and a half...I 100% guarantee this guy's name would be one of them.

He knows ...

when all this is removed from the context of gaming...to a strictly business situation...there is no arguing that MS has always been pretty brilliant about it. The views of most famous gaming developers/programmers always have an almost idealistic and/or artistic approach...where as MS has maintained a strictly cut-throat objective nature...it's important to not blame them for that directly, as that is first and foremost their 'economic purpose'...Guys like Sweeney used what MS ha...

Electronic Arts is head'd by Peter Moore.

Most people that know that man's name didn't buy an Xbox One. If you don't know who he is, and did buy an Xbox One, look him up...and learn about the commonalities between a public hardware beta (Xbox 360 and RRoD) and rushing every title to market regardless of stability (Sim City, BF4 {special thanks to that one's 12 months of being completely on fire}, etc.)...

what did MS learn from the ind...

Yes..Tim Sweeney is a nobody. He has had zero impact on the industry. All the stuff he said in this article (that scorpiusX didn't read and/or understand) is completely unfounded.

Exactly like John Carmack and Gabe Newell. None of these guys have ever had a good understanding of what MS is up to (even though one was an employee of them), and all they do is whine like brats on gaming forums.

the floor is yours, sir. Please clarify the ethics of how MS ...

it wasn't a bribe, or at least not in the legal context of which everyone seems to think they're an expert on...For it to be technically an illegal bribe, it would need to be proven that he disliked the game...then accepted money while flipping his opinion with the intent of deceiving his viewers...The bigger issue is that, with this game specifically, his 'fun' with the game wasn't unwarranted anyway. It received unanimous praise back in 2014 from nearly everyone...so the...

yeah, I've never even watched him but was well aware that he doesn't make reviews, doesn't do anything related to steering consumer decisions, etc. He did absolutely nothing wrong. WB was under investigation from what I understand, not various youtubers, and even they're clear of any wrong doing simply by noting this as promotion, not deception.

There are lines between ethical and legal matters. This slides safely through both (some youtuber was paid to prom...

but I almost 100% guarantee that scorpio will in no way, shape, or form support anything Steam related...It's a living room pipe for the win 10 store, so Steam, SteamVR, Vive, etc. won't happen unless HTC is able to break it out into it's own unrelated platform...which I'm not sure how the licensing with all that works; HTC is primarily the manufacturer, they didn't desig...

Weird for sure. The multiplayer of Return to Castle Wolfenstein in 2001 is still one of the best team/class based shooters i've ever played. It is crazy how 'modern' it was at the time, with class balancing and thematic elements to each round that games today still can't get right...sadly, everything they've worked on since has been decidedly down hill...

You're coming off as a bit entitled...

First, there are very few games set in WWI...Missed opportunity for what, exactly? The game isn't out yet...no one knows what the single player has in it, yet. And asking any form of multiplayer game to properly introduce and explain the history of what is going on is kind of ridiculous.

I'm not defending BF1, or especially EA/DICE...I don't trust them at all...but for better reasons; I'm more wor...

@donthate: Fair enough. I don't bother with that sort of stuff, so don't really know the differences between how other services handle it. I do think that game development, in and of itself, is a fundamentally kind of deceptive endeavor...Where quality, features, tech, etc. conflict with timing and competition...it's arguably more important to rush a product to market and beat a competing title, than it is to just make the game great...while it's equally important to facking a...

The gambling thing aside, I too don't really understand what is so 'bad' about Steam with greenlight/Early Access. The gambling stuff is just a weirdo side of online gaming that I'll never be able to relate to. I find zero value in fake digital stuff like that, but if it is a problem where people are getting ripped off...sure, something should be done to 'help' these troubled individuals with their addiction...?

But early access? Right on the hub pag...

It is basically competitive law at this point that 'weapon balance' was never an issue until load outs became standard in shooters. Like everyone is mentioning, which is actually quite reassuring (there have been countless threads in Doom's steam forums about modes without loadouts and they get run over by 'modern' players), if you don't spawn the fack in with the thing...then it DOESN'T MATTER how great the weapon is.

Instead we have this weird ...

^yep, that is ALWAYS the response in a discussion such as this.

GT5's better visual portions transcend any notion of subjectivity. Absolutely no other racing game in 2010, on any platform, could visuall recreate what GT5 did within its photo modes and on specific tracks with specific cars...the caveat was that when it couldn't match that, it fell well below even bad racing game visuals for the time.
