Where can you find a Series X? I haven't seen a major retailer have one in stock since the pre-orders. Not taking side as I know the PS5 is more in demand (its the one I choose as well) but I have't seen a Series X just sitting in stock on Amazon and Best Buy
Thats not how this would work. There is no guarantee that the controller on the board could handle the 4.0 if it was only a 3.0 thats why intel has a whole new board gen coming out with 4.0 (AMD has been supporting that) you would have to verify that it is indeed 4.0 capable. I'm just saying this because I would hate to have someone drop money on a 4.0 and then find it doesn't work.
You know, look I'm not buying a Series X at launch as I could only afford one and choose PS5 since I have a lot of PS4 games. That said I feel some of these early reviews are unnecessarily harsh. That is a massive annoyance for me. the OS should have native 4K at all levels given all the push/advertising of it. the scaled 1080p OS looked bad on the 1X so it was very surprising and kind of sad they didn't offer at least that to the scaled OS
Agreed. Im getting a PS5 at launch and will get a XSX later mostly for the backwards compatibility. MS just does not have a great library of exclusive software in the pipe yet. Also the scaled OS (loked at 1080p) that the XSX shares with all the other available Xbox platforms is honestly lame. I know why they did it but Xbox is not Windows 10 this new console should have new features unique to it. The controller is also a one extra button cookie cutter of the last gen one. The PS5 feels next ...
Older consoles and games will always be amazing because of stuff like this. They were packed with content and hidden features. Games today....not so much

Given that XSX doesnt support native 4K for its OS interface I don't see the PS5 not supporting 1440p being a big deal. Honestly for me the janky upscaled 1080p OS with XSX on my 2160P TV is going to look way worse.
Its actually a fairly significant downgrade. The harder polygon edges, baked lighting and harder edges with minor but noticeable weaker AA is enough for me to say I'll stick with the original.
Thought XSX didnt have ray tracing at launch? I remember Capcom saying it was going to be patched to that version later

Its more then a couple of games, the PS4 has tons of exclusive games and while PC gamers might not want to buy a PS5 as a company and brand PlayStation will not exist without the hardware. I swear you PC people get worse each gen, the average consumer does not want the buy in or aggravation of a gaming PC and if a company is going to make hardware its going to need exclusives to sell it. Sorry if that locks you out
Then why buy an Xbox? Honestly year the XSX is cheaper then a full priced gaming PC but if you have one then why buy an Xbox at all.....exclusives sell your platform and keep you invested in its ecosystem. To me this is MS stating plainly that Xbox is a service not a console
