Although I do think Square will announce something big. I think they are saving something. They have been tip toeing around Versus XIII for almost a year now. Its time they said something about it.
This game's PR staff really don't know what they are doing. You trickle out info until you have a blow out on the game then you release it. You don't have fans waiting over a year just to get one more small piece of information.
Squares PR on this game is a nightmare.
Agreed. While Square Enix puts this game on the back burner they are effectively putting Kingdom Hearts III on the back burner too and that is something that upsets many Square Enix fans. Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fans alike.
The longer we see this game in production the longer Kingdom Hearts III development gets delayed. Square needs to show that this game is real and is almost done. If they don't do it by E3 I don't see too many fans being happy with Square. ...
If Square cares about their fanbase they would. Sadly I dont think they do anymore. The announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-2 last year proves this.
Put simply my favorites are:
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy X
after those games the series lost a lot of flare to me. I am still holding out for Final Fantasy Versus XIII (or, if Square has any sense in them and rename the game, Final Fantasy XV).
I personally liked VIII and hated IX. For Final Fantasy games (for me) story is everything. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

It just improved on everything that made KH1 good. That and Organization XIII as bosses were the things that made it my favorite.
I loved MGS online. It was great. It was the konami id's that killed it.
As I recall when I went for a visit to Obsidian the project was called Project New York and it looked cool.
Same here. I mostly just go to n4g, khinsider and gameinformer every now and then.
I am very happy to see Kingdom Hearts make the list. Birth by Sleep is my favorite handheld game of all time and Kingdom Hearts 2 is my favorite game of all time. As you can see I am a bit bias though ;).
And Square Enix own Eidos. Ergo Square Enix owns the Deus Ex IP.
1) Good job to Activision and Square Enix. While I am not a fan of MW3 or FF XIII or XIII-2 they did sell quite a bit. FF XIII-2 may not have sold nearly as well as any other Final Fantasy in history but I know if I was running Square I would not be disappointed with the game making money.

I totally agree. Final Fantasy Versus XIII should be called Final Fantasy XV.
And XIII-2 was made to "correct" the problems XIII had which I think it didn't do a very good job at. It was still an okay game but nothing great.
They say this every year...
Square I have enjoyed our relationship and know that I will always like you but there's a time when people need to move on. Square this is one of those times. Just know it's not you it's m--...... well okay it is you. You burn through my money, the gameplay isn't as great as it used to be and I don't like being with your characters anymore. I think we'll both be happy if we take a break for a while.

If you missed a game than read up on it if you are lost. This series is really not that hard to follow. Play the games, if you don't then read up on what you have missed. If you don't want to do that and you just want to hate on the game then your just a troll.
You can't call a rumor dead unless the publisher says its fake which Square has not done with the Versus XIII/XV rumor.
I am bookmarking this page so IF AND WHEN Square announces Final Fantasy Versus XIII/XV I can tell these guys that they were dead wrong and laugh.
