DotA 2 is #19.
The list does have one redeeming factor:

I have Super Hexagon on Steam. Great game!!
I'm pretty sure this article is sardonic, and it's gone over everyone's head.
I used to shop at EB Games (Gamestop in Canada), but stopped years ago. I actually pick up most of my console games at Walmart now. They don't know shit about videogames, but I don't need them to. They have good stock and competitive pricing.
I did, however, pop in to EB Games last week to pick up a couple 3DS games, as the Walmart near my place is renovating and...
Games journalism is notoriously unprofessional, because many of the "journalists" (read: glorified bloggers) have no formal education in the field.
I expect this will evolve over time, as the demand for more professionally produced content increases.
This is my opinion... call it an observation.
Groups who have historically been discriminated against claim they want equality, but really they want vengeance.
They want to put the discriminators in "their place", so they "know what it feels like".
They also expect things to change RIGHT NOW.
How many prominent females were there in the games industry 20 years ago? Ten years ago? How about now? The number ...
"isn't job market about getting the most qualified people to your company?"
It was.
And then, affirmative action.
Because Sunday?
I dunno. :)
The "better than you could do" argument is, and always has been, asinine. Presumably, the author of the article is not a game developer, but a critic of interactive media.
It doesn't take a master chef to tell you a dish tastes off.
Great article. Well written and, in my opinion, spot on.
If games like Watch_Dogs need to exist to support their UbiArt platform, I'm okay with that.
Their AAA titles are extremely derivative, formulaic, and very "safe".
I don't like this Ubisoft.
But then, they release games like Rayman Legends, Child of Light, and Valiant Hearts, which are innovative, beautiful, and (specifically CoL and VH) emotional experiences.
This is the Ubisoft I like.
I want a Wii U. Nintendo's lineup was the most appealing to me, save for a few indie games announced at Sony/MS events, which will hopefully make it to PC.
"The Bioshock series’ strength has never been in its combat. The games have excelled in creating worlds that drip with atmosphere, and tense, scary moments, but the fighting just isn’t anything special."
Are you kidding me? Nothing special?
Let's leave aside Bioshock Infinite for now, which I just didn't get in to, and focus on the earlier games, since you're generalizing the entire series.
The dynamic of mixing and matc...
Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were both great games, just didn't sell to the CoD-fanatic X360 audience, unfortunately.
Many an awkward moment between my then-roommate and I, walking in on each other wiping away tears while playing through Lost Odyssey!
Great, and greatly underrated, game.
Pretty underwhelming sale so far for me.
Found a couple of indie games I hadn't seen before, but for the most part, I either already own or have no interest in what's been offered.
Come on, Dark Souls II and South Park!
Two of these are not RPGs, and one is Pokemon...
The remaining choices are somewhat questionable as well, in my opinion!
Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger...
Anything by Nobuo Uematsu!
Lol
Because SLI is/was broken... even with all this Gameworks shit.
"Lol I just beat my son so bad he was in tears such a sore loser."
Haha. Today's winner of the internet. :D
Really enjoyed that game, but if a Tribes game ever made a list like this, it would have to be Tribes 2!
Is Tribes Ascend still going strong? I heard the dev all but abandoned it to focus on Smite (also pretty cool).
