I agree with this statement 100%

"The Wii offers you something you couldn't do last gen simple as that."

Also I admit that I haven't kept up with the black market prices of the Wii. Thanks for a great reply!

I really need to say something here, and I know I'll get flamed for it.

People love to point out that the Wii is outselling the PS3 and Xbox360 3:1 or 4:1 but they never compare apples to apples. The prices of the PS3/360 are generally three to four times the amount of the Wii. There simply are not as many people who can afford the PS3/360 as apposed to the Wii. This doesn't mean they don't want it.

Its like saying that the Toyota Camry is the absolute best ca...

Here is the difference between audio cd vs downloads and video disc vs downloads.

With Audio, portability is key. You can pop in some super cheap earbuds and enjoy your music and be "fairly" satisfied. This trends the entire industry to smaller and more durable to things like shocks.

Video is different. With Video, the screen is key. Sure I have a PSP and can encode my movies to store on it. I was very excited by this at first... until I realized t...

Hehehe. Paid a grand on ebay to have one shipped to me from opening day.

My ps2 had been dead a few months and I was itching to get at the multimedia stuff the ps3 can do.

I haven't regretted it a bit, so I guess that just proves you pay what the value of something is to you right?

12 games and about 35 BRDs later, and I'm still loving it.

I should sue since it doesn't support .ogg format!

Ogg Vorbis forever! My entire collection is in it. Open source, licensing free, drm free.

I will never buy a player that doesn't support .ogg. And yes, I do not own an ipod :P

Ok this is sort of tongue in cheek here. They can support whatever they want to support. Its my choice as a consumer to pick or not pick them because of it. The argument that they have a monopoly on players is just sill...

Especially if your looking for replay value in 5 or 6 years. I still pick up my ps1 and ps2 games and play them from time to time. If there's noone else doing this, it makes multiplayer pretty useless without a good single player along with.

I didn't buy it for one reason... too short of a single player game. I rented it, finished it in a day, and returned it.

It was neat, but not worth 60 bucks and had no replay value to me in the offline mode. In my case I just don't have time right now to play online.

I wonder how many other people thought the same thing.

Why would you want DTS-HD ?? It runs uncompressed linear-pcm via HDMI. You really don't get any better than that...

This is a confusing concept. Maybe its a problem for people who don't have HDMI receivers for their setup?

I can't wait till these things go away like all fads do after a 1 to 2 year run. I predict you'll be able to pick these things up for 50 bucks a pop on Ebay in 2 years. Prove me wrong Nintendo. Then give me a REAL next gen console. There's no way this thing has legs. The more HDTVs in homes, the quicker the Wii fad will die out.

Didn't 3dfx try this in the 90's with the Voodoo SLI line? Where are they today again? Riiiiiight.

And I've been collecting them since 1997 when I purchased my first DVD player. Its nice to be able to pop in a disc from ten years ago and get great picture and sound from it at no additional cost. I can do that at any time with no real hassles.

If I had downloaded movies, I'd have to deal with DRM, protocols outdating themselves, failed hard drives, moving huge chunks of data around every time I upgraded devices. It would just be a total hassle.

I don't care ...

I absolutely LOVE the new series. Something tells me this game isn't going to do it justice.

If you don't want to be leg humped by all the immature boys, a voice change would let you sound like "one of the guys" and just let you enjoy the game.

I was expecting something more along the lines of traditional dodge ball. I kinda miss the old NES Super Dodgeball games.

If the textures weren't so crisp I'd say it looks like it was better suited for the Wii than the 360 with the cartoony big headed look things have on it. Pirate Mii's and Ninja Mii's would be interesting.

The only true winner between pirate and ninja is: a group of snipers camping on a nearby hill... the same winner as in any situation! :) ...

That You Don't Know Jack was released for the PS1. I've played it on the ps3 with friends. Yeah the graphics stink, but its a trivia game, who cares.

I've wished they would release a new one for the PS3 for a long time.

I think I have about 30 BD movies right now and growing... I buy 3-4 a month.

Guess that puts me in the .5%?

I kinda have to call bs on this article.

We're having a hard enough time trying to pry SD tv's out of ma and pa kettles hands, let alone say ok that HD tv you just bought needs another upgrade.

According to Wikipedia:
In 1969, Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai (NHK) first developed commercial, high-definition television, [4] yet, the system was not commercialized until late in the 1990s.

So they had "something like" HD for a very long time before it made the commercial push.

Also the re...
