Does anyone know if there is going to be a upgrade program to upgrade my ps3 version to a ps4 version??

OT: Hype actually is a sort of negative side-effect from huge marketing efforts of publishers. The majority of gamers will not preceive the marketing as too much and will nog get 'overhyped'. The marketing is aimed at all gamers. That some hardcore game fanatics get overhyped and ultimately dissapointed is just collateral damage.
Ofcourse reviewers can have their own opinions and rate games however they see fit. However there are certain things that can be said about the quality of a game without the personal taste factor. The quality on some aspects of destiny are evident, like graphics, sound, controls, stability (networking, connectivity, no bugs). These points in my eyes make destiny a 6/10 at the very least. Personal taste can determine if it deserves higher.
Good points. But you have to realise commenters on sites like N4G are the (very) vocal minority. Simple business and marketing rules apply. To Reach the not so hardcore gamer that is not so interested and invested in games that they read sites like n4g, you NEED marketing.
Agreed the marketing budget for the franchise is huge (exorbitant maybe even)
Look on the plus side, destiny might pull in more and more gamers into the hardcore zone thanks to the rpg elem...
@Volkama: I agree with you on your explenation. The comparisons are justified and indeed inevitable and I know that. I just think that some/most Halo defenders are not looking at things objectively and tend to resort to shortsighted, harsh comments.

The Halo glorification is getting rediculous. It was a great game that shaped and influenced many shooters that followed. But to say "Halo was better and therefore Destiny is sh!t" is too much. I think it will be a close race. Destiny will do insanely well for a new IP. They allready have a pre-order new ip record.
you might very well be right. But the last time I saw H1Z1, it didn't look good at all... Anything can happen between now and the release of these games. Hell, even other zombie games might be able to incorporate a sort of DAYZ mode in their game.

I don't know if your numbers are wrong or whatever, but otherwise the disagrees are sort of bullshit. Generally speaking you are right. Some people just don't seem to get basic economics.
it's far from ridiculous. A (at least) three year dev cycle is to be expected for a AAA game this gen. I understand what you are syaing that having to wait so long from the annoucement is too long. But we all do like to know what studios are working on. So I think we just have to get used to this new situation. From announcement to release will often be 3 years. Whatever they annouce as the next release date in 2016 they might not even make that. I predict fall 2016.
Thanks, bad news but thanks anyway. Guess I will trade it in and maybe get the ps4 version when it gets discounted.
