I hope they just go full smash/Nintendo kart with it. Bringing in a bunch more characters, tracks and items from the different Nintendo franchises (Kirby, Pokemon, Starfox, etc). They've already dipped their toe with 8, leaning much heavier into it for 9 would be an easy way to differentiate the new game on top of some new mechanical gimmick. Not sure what the new gimmick would be but destructible environments could be cool. Blast a hole through a wall with a green shell then speed throug...
His enemies don't have to just be vampires. Most supernatural threats would make sense for him. You could do a Witcher type situation. Some vampire villain (maybe Dracula) has unleashed a bunch of occult monsters (Vampires, Werewolves, demons, etc) on New York, for variety could be some other city like New Orleans, and Blade has to track down and kill them before they destroy the city/accomplish their end goal. Round out the cast with Elsa Bloodstone and some other occult heroes.
For reference. Here's what the twitter threat said about methodology.
"Methodology: Circana conducts a monthly survey of US active gamers over the age of 13. Surveys are fielded online, via PC and mobile devices, drawing from a nationally representative pool. Respondents qualify on the basis of having played games in the past month (30 days). To ensure consistency across samples and correct for any biases/errors, Circana implements a weighting system for each month...
He was fired months ago. He's only talking about it on social media now. Also as he talks about in the twitter thread the in game jokes he was fired over weren't even all written by him. They were conceived by a team of people at Blizzard in public with support from management. They got a green light to go live in the game for a week. It was only once someone "very high up at the company" played the game and saw the quotes that offense was taken and this designer was termina...
I feel like this game would have benefitted financially from being themed around running the Xavier institute and going out on missions as X-men. The existing gameplay of building up and training a team, having interpersonal disputes and hanging out in a mansion translates 1:1. Plus X-men have way more name recognition than Midnight Suns. Besides they already ditched a bunch of classic Midnight Suns characters to go for Avengers and X-men characters anyway.
Studies have shown that harsher punishments do little to nothing to deter crime. The stronger deterrent is increasing people's perception that they will be caught. Like seeing a cop up the street from the liquor store you were about to rob is a much more effective deterrent than learning the max sentencing for armed robbery was increased by 5 years.
I really wish the Midnight Suns game had been an X-men game. It would have translated perfectly since MS already has a bunch of heroes hanging out in a mansion, building bonds, honing their powers and acting like teenagers.
Nintendo: “Thank you so much for helping us win all those court cases. We’ve named a character in your honor.”
Lawyer: “That’s amazing. What’s the character?”
Nintendo: “An amorphous blob that eats everything.”
Lawyer: “…”
I don’t know what you’re talking about. This seems like great advertising for Insomniac’s Spider-man haha
@neonridr
This is Nintendo we’re talking about. Odds are if they add more consoles down the line we’re going to see that subscription price go up even further. Especially if it’s a more recent console like the GameCube.
But Deathloop isn’t even on Xbox currently. It’s PS5 and Windows exclusive. Psychonauts is also available on other consoles.
There’s a Groundhog Day video game that’s a sequel to the movie. “Groundhog Day: Like Father, Like Son.” If follows Phil Connors’s son through a time loop. It came out in VR a couple of years ago.
I’m more concerned about Cory Barlog not being the director. All the behind the scenes stuff I’ve seen suggests that he was the one who really shaped the 2018 game into what it was. Still the Ragnarok trailer looked good.
Think about the resistance on the adapative triggers as Logan extends his claws. 😘👌🏻
The gameplay looks pretty stiff. I’m worried this might be an all style no substance game.
I feel like it was very probably the worst E3 I’ve seen (not surprising considering COVID). Microsoft and Nintendo were the only companies who had enough games to justify having their own presentations.
The Gearbox showcase in particular was just painful to watch.
If they do a second one I hope they open it up to other Nintendo franchises like they started to with the Donkey Kong DLC. I’d love to see their version of Hyrule or Kirbys dreamland or Metroid. It would also be really cool to get those other characters in there as playable heroes.
If they didn’t want her to be big they shouldn’t have made her over 9 feet tall.
The PlayStation game that would most benefit from PC support is Dreams.
Seems unlikely when they abandoned the GaaS spiderverse game but are still going ahead with single player games like Wolverine and Spider-Man 3.
