I hope you are right. I think it's listed as spring for Japan, so depending on localization it might make it to 2015. I just wondered if they would delay it a little bit based off of when Zelda was going to be ready, or if their late spring target ends up being late June/July for Japan if it would push it into 2016 for the west.
Mostly I'm being pessimistic about the release date so if it makes it I'll be pleasantly surprised as opposed to counting down the days...
I'd like a standalone game as well, but both would be just fine. I'm excited to see what the collaboration will end up like.
I really think they could continue Radiant Dawn as a standalone title following Queen Nailah back across the desert into some sort of crisis in her country....
And this is where I will get disagrees probably....Awakening is the FE I like least and I hope the next console FE is more like Radiant Dawn and less like Awakening
It's a good list, but I'm the odd Nintendo fan who doesn't care about Yoshi and Kirby. I'm hoping Xenoblade Chronicles X makes it into 2015 for NA.
Games I need to prepare my wallet for on Wii U
Splatoon
Zelda Wii U
Star Fox
Project Cars
Citizens of Earth
EarthLock
And by some miracle if they arrive before 2016 Xenoblade and FE v SMT
Oh and of course Half Life 3!
I'm sorry.....you lost me when stating LBP has more innovation and creativity then Nintendo over the last 40 years.....Sony has been great for gaming and Little Big Planet is a great franchise but come on. Give credit where it is due. Of course we all know you don't truly believe that, and if you do then I feel sorry for you.
It's a well written article and brings up valid points about the strength of Nintendo and the Wii U. If you like games then it's a great system to have, but if your love of gaming is limited then I guess it depends on personal taste. For anyone on the fence though.....I recommend a purchase. It has been a great system for me and 2015 looks incredible.
Because Nintendo values their brand. A smart consumer will never buy a game day 1 because in 2 months you can get it new for $20 cheaper. Ubi is the worse offender.....their games always plunge in price why anyone pre-orders their games I'll never understand, unless budgeting isn't a concern for you.
Why are we already talking about a sequel? I know, it sold well, it's a business, it will make them money, but I'm getting sick of the annual releases and constant turn around on games. They don't need to hype next game a week after you get the current one.
Lego games are fun but easy. They usually are well written with a lot of laughs. They will take you a while to find all the hidden things but wont be overly challenging.
I wish Nintendo would stop making bright colorful games, and make more dark, damp, realistic games where my mom yells down from upstairs about how I'm wasting my life........ya know what, I'm suddenly ok with bright and colorful.
I think you are right. All decent games are fun. That's why we play them and Nintendo isn't the only company making "fun games"
I do not think the author is bashing other developer's games though, as much as he is appreciating Nintendo's style and brand.
There are many different ways of describing an experience with a game. Sometimes it's the great graphics, story, game play, style, concept, what ever it is that makes you app...
For better or for worse, Nintendo does their own thing. It is a different approach currently then the other major players in gaming and it is probably hurting them right now because they are not the cool kids.
They have a history of making my favorite games though and as long as they keep producing quality products then I will continue to support them.
Yes more short polished games would be great. So would a move away from annual releases. Franchises should be released every 2 or 3 years at the most.
Obviously the profit is there or they wouldn't be handling it the way they are but quality and variety in gaming titles suffer because of it.
Why would I pay $60 for a game I can get in January for $19.99. I've already waited 6 months....what's 2 more? Ubi already stated they won't support the console. Me paying $60 isn't going to change their mind.
I don't want a sequel but I would like more games like Child of Light. Don't get me wrong, the game is great but there are so many other things they could do that I'd rather not have another "annual" franchise
I'd like to run into some of these glitches sometime
Ubi has a habit of making a game that draws me back in to their customer base but a lot of what they make just isn't that good. Fortunately if you wait for reviews and public opinion you can usually pick up the game 3 months later for $20.
I'd never buy a game day 1 from them anymore though
Every title helps strengthen the system. The more games the more variety the better. I'm excited for Splatoon, Zelda, Xenoblade, Mario Maker, Project Cars and hopefully a surprise or 2
Seriously.......at $12 for another 16 tracks of Mario Kart goodness.....is anyone not getting the DLC? I'm pretty sure it will be easy to find online races if you want.....the non DLC customers are probably gonna have the bigger issue
On the plus side......this will be $9.99 after Christmas for those that want it
Handhelds are dead because 3DS sold less this November......that wouldn't have anything to do with a New 3DS coming out early 2015?
