I mean all we really need to do is login and play a match in COD... cause, wow. Gamers may not want politics in their hobby, but many sure do like show examples of why movements like BLM matter.

Well said. Yes we can turn to games, movies, or sports to escape the harsh realities of the real world. But sometimes, it’s ok to align the two, if anything to combine the things/people we love with the changes that so desperately need to be recognized and focused on.

For those that will read the title and not the article, here’s the authors conclusion: “This is a console that, like the PS5, is coming roughly six to eighteen months earlier than its truly tentpole games, but a few days with the Series X tells me it doesn't really need them. It's the console itself I actually want.”

@Mandf I misspoke, “a worse global economy since the Great Depression.”

@Charal I get what you’re saying, but typically this is the time parents are out buying the majority of consoles. If console X is $200-300 more and is in short supply, the fallback will be the cheaper console.

That and being $200 and $300 cheaper during a global economy that closely resembles that of the Great Depression, will help.

@Michiel1989
They were valued at 8billion earlier this year, second in Europe to only Ubisoft.

Bluepoint is definitely something they should consider, but they are producing exclusives for the PS without the need to purchase them. So maybe just keep the contracts going until it’s absolutely necessary to make that move.

Konami & Cd Projekt Red are probably way out of Sony’s price range for purchases. I believe CD Projeket Red is worth more now than Zenimax.

I don’t think Sony needs to just go buy a developer right now. Yes the possibility of th...

Console market is max 120-150M as each of the 3 + the PC. So no.

At this point, if they aren’t announcing a surprise launch of HZD2, I could care less about Sony wants to talk about if it doesn’t revolve pricing, release date, and/or preorder info.

So long as there are pre-teens, teens, and 20 somethings needlessly bashing another console/game(s) to help fuel media sites craving clickbait material, console wars will never end.

Yeah they need to do a better job specifying when some of those heavy hitters like Hellblade 2, Fable, or Avowed plan to hit. Because outside of that you don’t need a the Xbox to play Halo, so if you’re looking to just play 3rd party games probably better FPS or resolution in the intern, there’s no real justification to run out and buy one.

PS5 to me also has that same challenge. I could take or leave a Spider-Man 1.5, Ratchet & Clank looks great but I’m not sure I’d bu...

I thought it was about 7ish. Excited to see them have interesting looking/sounding games for a change. I just wish we knew about at least when one of those other heavy hitters is going to possibly release. Everwild looks cool... but I’d like to at least see gameplay or explanation of what it is.

I think I'm like 10 hours in, done a lot of side stuff, but personally I like Jin's quiet, self contained character. I do hope his own personality comes out a little more through the story, because so far, there's no real conflict within him, no personal growth outside of trying to be a noble warrior within the guidelines of the samurai code It's the first Sony open world game I've played where the protagonist doesn't constantly talk to him/herself. Deacon's cha...

There's nothing "inventive" about GoT. But again it doesn't need to be. I get that people can get open world fatigue, the designs are, for most the same. Personally I like them, I like the ability to explore, conquer, and upgrade stuff. Honestly a good story in open world games is something I rarely notice as when there becomes so much to do, the core narrative can get lost.

I just don't why people want this game to be considered a best of gen or G...

I still for the life of me don’t understand why VGChartz makes it on this site if only to reference PS sales to adhere to some of the rampant fanboyism here that even the head of this site had to call out. But I digress.

GoT is in my IMO so far not a 5. Does it have its own issues, yes. Does it expand upon the open world genre, no, but do we need it to, to be fun? I love open world games, Sony’s formula for them this gen has been great this gen, HZD being easily my favorite...

Why? I’m enjoying GoT a lot but the direct comparisons to Assassins Creed are fairly obvious. Valhalla looks fun in its own right. GoT is a good game, but it doesn’t exactly expand upon the open world genre

@Sub4Dis I know it’s dumb. I feel like they jumped the shark so to speak in 4 with whole Cortana thing. I played 5 and just thought it was unnecessary, and MP was ok at best, but easily the least I’ve played of any of them. 343 not showing any reference to Locke in this preview was a win IMO. Playing the MC collection on Steam is pretty great though.

To each his/her own. I like playing through the campaigns, I just never played much attention to the story as never really got me hooked.

It was the MP that got my college roommates and I hooked to the series, and has kept us in contact with each other long after college. So it will always be special to me in that regard.

Xbox has a massive fan base here in the US. If priced right and Halo is it a hit, it could just as easily rival the PS5 for sales here stateside. For as poorly as the Xbox One performed this gen, it didn’t get outsold at nearly the ratio one would assume it should have here. Goodwill and PR, are a year to year thing in the video game industry, where you have all the momentum, and blow it by saying “people will work more hours to buy one” to the RRoD to one of the worst online security breache...
