valve isn't supposed to make sequels like this - that's the issue. half life 2 came out how many years after half life? not that 5+ years of development is ideal, but each game should have enormous amounts of staying power.
i'm hoping that at least l4d2 will have some lasting value, if it must be a new game and not dlc...
i like boobs
@ pinnacle of console gaming
I think that would include a few HDTVs and some other stuff you forgot to include in your estimate
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!
i still wouldn't buy one for that price... lol
this sucks, bethesda needs to gtfo
looked kind of sh*tty imo...
oh well, maybe some day...
seriously, what a rip-off. when i buy a valve game i expect it to last, not become obsolete in a year.
the people who aren't upset about this don't get it: this isn't a sports game or regular fps - its a massively competitive co-op/ pvp game like counter strike or team fortress 2 or day of defeat or maybe even starcraft. these games are supposed to last for many years, getting gradual updates along the way. competitive games aren't supposed to get sequels so soon, players take their time to savor it and learn all of its nuances and develop strategies. imagine if diablo 4 came out a year after ...
the second one needed more crazy cut-scenes and strelok
once guild wars 2 starts to peak out over the horizon, i'll play more eye of the north... but until then, i've kind of had my fill.
i dont use linux because it cant really play games and doesn't support as many hardware configs.
also im a little lazy when it comes to re-learning how to do things i already know how to do well.
no one has mentioned deus ex? system shock 2 would be in my list, along with half life 1, goldeneye 007/ perfect dark, duke nukem 3d, STALKER: shadow of chernobyl, FEAR... ahhh, too many great games how to choose the best
It should be a horror MMO based off the Hannibal films, that would rock.
the ps3 is getting no love from valve because the hardware is so radically different from all other platforms that it isn't really worth their time/ money/ effort to learn how to program on it. maybe after we see a multi-core update to tf2 they'll reconsider? but i can imagine it would suck trying to leave a platform you've mastered...
Using pirated software is not stealing, its called "copyright infringement." And the mentality is this: if I pay for something (buy it) shouldn't I be allowed to modify it to my own needs? Pirates are fighting back for the rights we demand - imagine buying a car and not being allowed to swap out the engine or give it a new paint job. Open source software for life! I'm not saying it should be free, but it should come with the similar ideologies of anything else we pay money to "...
The real question is, "is it worth it?" Having two separate pieces of RAM in the PS3 doesn't seem to give them any advantage, only butt-hurt.
loved the demo, will buy...
LOL @ apple fanboys thinking they have good hardware/ software
can't wait to try this out
