I always think of RE4 as more of a creepy game than scary. The music, ambient noises (the regenerator's breathing, the weird monk chanting), and the super dull color palette makes everything really dreary and unsettling. I've always preferred that sort of thing over jump scares anyway.

The RE1 remake Jill and the RE5 Jill are the same Jill though, face-wise. They're both Julia Voth.

Personally, Julia IS Jill to me, so having anyone else is weird. It's like when they changed Drake's face in Uncharted 4 or Desmond's in Assassin's Creed Revelations. It's still the character, but something's off.

But I get i...

Jump Festa. Probably not State of Play.

I think it's safe to assume there's going to be a PS5 version of this game a year or two after this PS4 version is out, just like with the first game.

Hate to break it to you, but do you know what the #4 and #5 top selling Final Fantasy games are? The much maligned Final Fantasy XIII and XV. VII is the top winner, but it's also been released the most. X is #2, but Square Enix has never revealed what the remastered PS3, PS4, and PC versions have done (and it's bundled with X-2, which makes the sales kind of murky, I guess) . VIII is #3, which isn't a big surprise because, love it or hate it, it was the the follow-up to the much l...

But if this is a good 40+ hour game that you have a ton of fun with that just happens to end on a cliffhanger, it's still worth it to me. My only thing is... what if Square Enix doesn't get their stuff together and release the next episodes in a timely manner or they never actually get made. But still, even if that happens and this is good, it still doesn't stop it from being a good game. Just an incomplete story.

Not sure what the big deal is about that though. Before it's was just a disembodied voice in his head. But in 1997, that voice was a mystery to the gamer. Now it makes sense to show that Cloud isn't just hearing voices, but seeing Sephiroth in his head, as well. If you think about it, it actually plays very nicely in what will eventually lead to the Reunion and Cloud handing over the Black Materia to Sephiroth. We're seeing the first seeds of that here, and I like it.

Actually, nope.

Expect The Outer Worlds to be about 30-40 hours long. "We've decided to put our effort into the reactivity and replayability—because of our size and budget, those necessitate a smaller, more tightly-controlled game than a giant sandbox open world where you can run everywhere," said co-director Leonard Boyarsky.

And I'm completely fine with that. The original Mass Effect games were about that length. A lot of old school JR...

You never heard the english voice work either, I would think, since it never existed. ;)

I wonder how this will work if true. The character models remained pretty static, and if they just add a head bob in there ala Metal Gear Solid, it will still be pretty silly and unnecessary. Maybe certain scenes will have been redone and have their mouths moving, ala the puppets from the FFIV handheld/PC "remake." That was kind of bad, but it also kind of worked, so... who kn...

That sounds about right.

You know, I modded this game years ago on PC and I was perfectly happy with it. And now with the Gigapixel AI, I'm sure someone out there is already trying to make it look even better. And as long as you have a functioning PC, anyone can really play a pretty much enhanced version of the game now anyway.

That said, if there was a cool physical release I would consider buying it. Damn, Square Enix. You already got me for the 1st Class Edition of FFVII. What are you doing ...

MGS5 and its host of issues.

Plenty of people say MGS4 was nothing but fanservice and lacked actual substance, but I liked it a lot. It did seem like it moved from set piece to set piece though, and I kind of like it when you're sort of just plopped into one location and expected to infiltrate it and learn the ins and outs of the area.

I had my problems with the narrative of MGS3, and felt really disconnected because it was now the second game in a r...

Yeah, sorry, chief. Playing with an enhanced or remastered soundtrack, improved character models, improved 2D backgrounds, improved translation, and smarter enemy A.I. enhances EVERYTHING about a modded PC version.

Not only that, a group right now is working on another mod that seemingly blows everything else I've seen for mods out of the water because it looks much more intensive. And they're adding pretty decent voice acting for every character (even NPCs!) to boo...

You say you have the pc port, so why not just mod it? It's just as good if not better than the original ps1 version then.

My problem with it is that the people making the show are specifically targeting people of color to basically "fill a quota." It has nothing to do with talent, or who is right for the role. They want to be "inclusive," and yet they're completely shutting out a huge portion of talented (and sure, white) actresses who might be PERFECT for the role. If an Asian girl kills it at her audition, then great. Go for it! Cast her if she's right for the role. But give the sho...

You do realize we now live in a world where FFXV, The Last Guardian, and Persona 5 actually exist now, right? If those games came out, so will these. It's just... who knows when.

The first game was solid, but I truly believe the only way to really play the game to get enjoyment out of the combat was just to play it like a stealth game. That really minmalized the gunplay which wasn't very good and you could just sneak around everyone instead. I would definitely like a sequel though.

Online co-op maybe, which... go figure! What a surprise! A game about a team of superheroes has an online component?! No way!

I have to wonder if Tales from the Borderlands is going to be truly canon and certain events and deaths that happened there are really going to carry over to part 3. They killed off someone pretty "important" in Borderlands lore there, and I wonder if they'll stick with that. Of course, they could easily retcon all of it because it's Borderlands and silly and Tales sometimes got a little serious and emotional with their storyline. Perish the thought, right, Gearbox?
