No, the island didn't disappear. All my equipment did. It's just a glitch with ArmA. Also I'm pretty sure you can't get infected in this mod but I'm not positive on that.
Yeah, I don't know. I just finished playing this and I rage quit because I lost my AKS-74u and a ton of other equipment because I tried to swim across to an island and it just disappeared when I was swimming. I don't think that's realistic.
It is pretty fun though. Really immersive and terrifying.
Oh. Well then I have no idea what to expect.

I'm just expecting another WoW clone. Also because it's Bethesda I'm expecting an awful engine, terrible graphics, terrible optimization, and lots and lots of bugs.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up for this. I made that mistake with Splinter Cell: Conviction. Hitman: Blood Money and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory are 2 of my favorite games and if they ruin this franchise too I will be REALLY pissed.
Oh man I would love another Soldier of Fortune. Those games were so gruesome. In what other game can you shoot a guy in the gut with a shotgun and watch him try to keep hit intestines from spilling onto the floor?

I have an i5 760 and GTX 580 and Blops ran pretty shittyily for me. FPS would drop down to 15 at times.

Black Ops ran like total crap on my computer and I have a GTX 580. It was the best GPU you could get back when Blops came out and I would constantly get FPS drops.
Horrible balance, horrible hit detection, and horrible netcode.

I know not all F2P games are pay to win, but a good chunk of them are. If Tribes Ascend wasn't free to play it would probably be one of the best games this year. But instead they decided to make it F2P and let you pay to get the better guns. If you don't want to pay it will take a LONG LONG time just to unlock 1 gun.
I certainly hope not because many free to play games are pay to win.
They gotta work on the hit detection and sound. The hit detection will sometimes work just fine, other times it's just total crap. The sound is just weird and it will sound like the footsteps are to your left but they're really to your right.
