Completely forgot about Abe's Oddysee - that was a brilliant game and looked amazing for the time. Great story too! Good point!!
The PlayStation was first launched in Japan on December 3, 1994, before North America on September 9, 1995 and Europe on September 29, 1995...
Looking back on all these games as I was writing the article, I was amazed at how many top titles - and series - started on Sony's machines!
Yeah, course - but this thread is about favourite 360 memories! I'd not played extensively online BEFORE Xbox Live on the 360 ... and I haven't looked back since!
and getting that chainsaw working!
Finally getting onto Xbox Live (thought it would be a waste of time and money when I first got my machine) and realising how addictive playing complete strangers could be!
I remember when, back in the day, Megadrive games used to cost about the same as they do now. Nowadays, you get so much more value for money and content. I reckon games will always stay at around the £40 price point, even next gen.
Anyone remember Syndicate too - used to think that was a great menu (like a computer terminal) - the map was kind of RISK like but with the ability to control your agents too!
Thought about including that - the DNA effect was pretty effective but didn't really do too much? Very appropriate for the game though!
@The Leisure Lab - yeah, love Brutal Legend but think the Dirt screen is great. Could spend ages just trying to fathom how to access all the various options,eh? By the "e", guess you were referring to the headline? Have corrected - thanks!
Victorian London - now that sounds like a good setting. Great, recognizable locations etc... Or what about England around Great Fire of London time 1666?!?!
Man, hope they get to the core of the problem ;)
Did look at Metacritic for this - scroll down a few pages of reviews and these games all have plenty of criticisms
Many of these games may have been highly acclaimed and some achieved very respectable scores - but they were criticised or "slammed" by reviewers and gamers alike for the reasons stated in the article (just look at all the reviews on Metacritic!). Poor solo missions, rubbish AI or lousy co-op just isn't right when we're paying out loads of money for a new release
Just because you like a game or it gets a decent review score doesn't mean it doesn't ha...
Agreed. Dance Central does look decent - it should at least open up a whole new load of games for Xboxers! That can't be a bad thing? And price-wise it doesn't seem too much more expensive than the PS Move - esp when you factor in that you need to buy the Move controllers for each player!
Good old Lara Croft!
Really like the last one too - the one done by the college. Great idea with the scrolling!
No,I agree - think if I'd have picked up the original Uncharted first, I'd have just been going through the motions - playing through it as quickly as possible so I could get my hands on the sequel to see what everyone was raving about!
@2late - Right back at ya. Thanks for the comment, but... http://www.xbox.com/en-US/g...
I feel like I'm just playing a game with loads of QTE when I'm playing Guitar Hero - it's just a succession of button presses... and I find it nigh on impossible! Found Killzone 2 pretty dull and massively overrated and Modern Warfare 2 was a bit of a disappointment too - although I loved the Special Ops parts!
