Wondering where the time went

Meh. Articles like this are stupid. Who's saying the XB1 is finished? It isn't. It just won't be as successful sales wise this gen as the PS4. Essentially, the situation has reversed from last gen, when the 360 was more successful in North America than the PS3.

I had a PS3 that gen and never bought a 360. I enjoyed some of the games that came out for it, and I never regretted purchasing one at launch. If the 360 had several exclusives that catered to my interests,...

I'll enjoy the larger, more diverse library that revenue brings to PS4,

Nothing gets the comment section fired up like a good ole clickbait title, especially if it puts one console over the other. N4G will never change.

Articles like this are pretty worthless imho, since gaming and console preferences are subjective. Just because I'm not interested in XB1 doesn't mean it's a bad console, or that it's games suck, etc. It just means that it doesn't offer me enough for me to spend my money on it. If you like it, great. If you do...

By the fiery balls of Surtur himself, this game doth indeed entice!

Sony made some smart decisions with the PS4, such as choosing a 'back to basics' approach to console design instead of pushing a new game format, etc. They also capitalized on MS' missteps with the XB1 to regain mindshare amongst North American gamers. Since then, they've delivered a diverse, solid library of exclusives and third-party games. Success builds on success.

There's also the fact that PlayStation is a much bigger global gaming brand than XBox. ...

I was talking about the type of sexual scenes in 17+ movies, not porn, where the Protag and the Love Interest usually have a sexually-themed scene that is a little more explicit than just slinking out of undergarments and under the covers before it fades to black, something like the sequence at the beginning of Timecop, for example. They're a married couple. They're clearly having sex, but it's not porn.

A well-crafted sex scene in fiction supports the throughlin...

Video games need to have stories that better handle sexual plotlines, stories that actually incorporate sexual elements into the overall experience of the game instead of just providing *huhuhuh titties* moments.

The 70-90% market domination is for continental Europe, not the UK, though the PS4 leads in the UK as well.

Trying to make sense of fanboy arguments isn't worth the effort, with all the goalpost shifting, etc.

Strategically, Sony's playing it smart. They've released a couple of exclusives earlier this year, when MS had a AAA-exclusive drought, but they have more sense than to attempt to compete head-to-head in the Fall with Halo 5 set to drop. Let MS frontload the Fall-Holiday season and sell a ton of consoles - as tends to be the pattern - while Sony keeps up a slow-a...

That they are. They're both credits to their respective companies and to the industry as a whole.

I was in my 20s at the time, too. So many hours devoted to that game. I still can't believe the remake is happening.

Both Sony and MS had good conferences for their respective fanbases. MS didn't show anything that interested me personally, but they certainly provided some great announcements for their fans. Sony did the same. Ergo, everything's fine and there's no reason for saltiness from either camp.

Considering PS Now allows them to play Playstation games without a Playstation console, I doubt it.

Sony's conference was focused on showing gamers what's in the pipeline for the next couple of years. It didn't waste a lot of time talking about non-gaming functionality, TV shows, etc. It seemed pretty on-point, technical hiccups aside.

It's comparing apples to bananas. They're both targeted to two vastly different consumers. XB1's BC is a function which, while admittedly sparse right now, will make some 360 owners who haven't made the jump to XB1 yet more inclined to do so. However, history shows us that BC isn't as important a feature as it once was. Look at last gen. When PS3 launched, it had B/C with PS1 and PS2 games, but that wasn't enough to spur a mass shift to PS3. Sales were so bad, in fact,...
