if it was the 360, I'd use the word faulty too.. But both Xbox one and PS4 have both have acceptable failure rates.
If you said underpowered then thats up for debate with comparisons. In which the ps4 is the clear winner at the moment
We'd lose, all of us; gamers... Sony and MS competing is good for gamers. Without Xbox live the Ps3 would still have a terrible UI and online party chat.
Without Playstation Plus, Xbox would still be giving away 10 year old bargain bin games (or not) to its users and pretending like they're doing them a favor.
Im a Sony Fan, but even I don't wish MS would just leave the Gaming business completely..

Getting killed by everyone and their mother.. logout to singleplayer, change control s to free aim and log back online... I guarantee that you'll be killed 60% less as it takes more skill than the snap to enemies aim assistance gives everyone. .
To be honest, I like these changes to the Multiplayer formula.. They remind of the paid shortcuts in the battlefield series..
As a guy who has full time job, school and a dwindling social life (due to an awesome brand new GTA game), I will embrace these shortcuts with my wallet.
