EA: The Plague Of Gaming.

I think it's pretty safe to say what every other gamer has already said or is thinking, Me and a friend of mine being devout consolers have sat back or ranted over phone conversations about the recent shenanigans of EA over the last few days, months, years, existence. And come to know it as gamings first major sexually transmitted infection due to how fast it is spreading “Never mind the sheer destruction blogger person with your stupid fish related name” I hear you angry mob reply in your burn-the-witch voices. Unfortunately we can't as a committee punish gaming crimes by seeing if the perpetrators float on water or weigh the same as a duck.

Instead let's look at some examples of how EA have put on the mask and stripey jumper, continuing to sneak into your homes and consoles every time you want to try out a new game with you unaware until you see the 'Redeem or Purchase Online Pass' notification or 'Purchase the new character now for exclusive content” which was a particular favourite of mine recently, not naming any names...

For example, with any FIFA game you turn on your console of choice to play now I can almost guarantee you that you will be prompted to part with your cash for the smallest and most insignificant piece of content, now of course I understand that most of the time this is optional, but it doesn't really show any care for the community that make these games what they are now does it? If we were to compare EA to another company like Rockstar who for instance released the “Outlaws till the End” Pack for Red Dead Redemption for absolutely free (Considering people took their time and effort developing this content for their adoring fans) It's nigh on unmissable to notice how other developers actually care about their fans, and don't just attempt to leech the very lifeblood out of you. Seriously at this point if companies like EA had world domination, you better start saving your pennies to pay for every breath you take.

I'll divulge you in why I decided to write this, I briefly gave a metaphorical rabbit punch to EA in one of my reviews, but this just torn it. It's mainly because of probably the most perfect multiplayer game I’ve played in my trigger bashing career (We all know what it is) being pistol whipped back into the dark corners of top tier gaming history so that they can make a few extra beer tokens out of it, for EA to do a Gary Coleman to Battlefield gave me two theories.

One: That EA purposefully did this because they knew how successful Battlefield was (Because we weren't about to play Modern Warfare 3) and needed it dead and buried to make way for more rushed future projects to turn a profit on them. Look at it this way, if more online First Person Shooter's came out in the next year or so, or anything online at all from EA producing, your going to compare the experience they portray to a brilliant game you already possess aren’t you? To determine if it is worth buying based on it's uniqueness. Now, with no such experience currently in existence because of the DefCon 5 tactic pulled (Don't give me MW3 I've already bloody told you) every gamer is going to be forced to jump on the next rolling along Bandwagon, for it also to crash and burn 15 miles down the dirt track, and the driver promising you another ride in a “little while” as long as you perform exploitive favours.

Or Two: EA just want to give us all a massive two fingers for how much we moaned about Mass Effect 3 with their constant responses of “ Thank you for your complaint, it will be handed over and reviewed by our team of give a toss, cheers for your purchase mate have a great Christmas”. Either way EA, your on someone’s hit-list, I'll see you in Valhalla.
