Remember my RE5 blog, and then RE5 disappointed big time (I do). Now I am going to write another one of my "Should It Be On The Wii Blogs". This time I am taking on Modern Warfare 2. These are the Top 2 reasons it should be on the Wii and the Top 3 reasons why it should happen if it is on the Wii.
It Should....not!!!!!
1. Infinity Ward doesn't give a $H!T: Why should Infinity Ward care?? Modern Warfare 2 will sell on Wii, but it will sell 1/3 compared to the PS3, and 1/4 to the 360. Now they will make money of course, but they will have to increase developement for a Wii version. Maybe Treyarch could do it, but...OK, let's face it, World at War on the Wii was a solid 7. They kicked out half of the features and the gfx engine they used sucked. Oh well.
2. Treyarch....oh Treyarch: If Treyarch does do it, then they should add all the features. Otherwise I'll end up buying it on PS3. World at War on the Wii was a downgraded port. They took out Nazi Zombies, some online features, and DLC from the Wii version of World at War. Especially since Nazi Zombies is AWESOME. So what they will do with Modern Warfare??? I want all the features!!!!!!
At least Beenox won't work on it.
Why It Should:
1.Controls: The controls for this version would be the best of all three versions. Dual-analog is a thing of the past. MotionPlus is the way of the future.
2. Sales: It won't sale as much as the PS3 and 360 version, but it will sell at least 1.20 million. Especially with all the features if they do it right.
NOTE: It will sell slowly....like MadWorld and Call of Duty: WaW.
3. Final reason why it should. I don't want to see a gap between Call of Duty releases on the Wii. It just shouldn't happen. Read the chart.
Release | Wii Version |
Call of Duty 3 | Yes |
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare | No |
Call of Duty: WaW | Yes |
RDarren writes: DOOM: The Dark Ages is a gloriously gory game which manages to feel familiar but fresh at the same time.
CCG writes - "Star Wars Outlaws is fun, kept me engaged for about 90 hours, and Kay is a fun character to explore four fairly large environments with. It does a good job of faithfully representing the Star Wars galaxy far far away and stays mostly true to the lore and established characters. There are tie-ins to several of the movies and shows such as Solo and The Empire Strikes Back. If you like Star Wars and you can overlook the subtle and unnecessary woke expressions, then you'll likely enjoy the game. In my humble opinion Outlaws is over-priced at $70 for the standard game, so you may want to wait for a sale."
May is absolutely packed with new driving and racing games, from an indie police chase game to the next chapter of Codemasters’ F1 series.
unfortuantely there is no open zone for blogs. Kinda stinks. However interesting points. It has always seemed wird to mee that dev don't seem to think a fps that isn't wwII can be done on wii. It's a game I think they can do it.
the game would suffer a great deal on wii, not to mention infinity ward isn't a big developer, treyarch is a gigantic game farm(they released world wat war on every single platform available)
the credits on WAW are about 4 times the size as COD4 because treyarch is a company whose purpose is to crank out games as fast as possible
infinity ward have just enough people to develop the 360/ps3 version because they can share assets such as models, textures, etc
on the wii they can't push the same high poly models, large procedural textures which means they need to do extra leg work
too much modification to the game itself means more time and collapse of the original vision
another point to this is that a good portion of the focus on this game is the multiplayer, the online multiplayer which just is not the wiis strong point
so you would get half the game as the other consoles, arguably something they do not want to create, and a possible delay to the versions of the game everybody is waiting for
and as a wii gamer why would you want a game that is only have of what it could be? a game the developer doesn't even want to make?
the quality would be low, the sales would be low, and it just wouldnt be worth it
i'd rather not see the modern warfare 2 name put on a crippled game for wii, i'd rather see somebody develop an original game specifically meant for wii
But I think it would be too costly for all the wrong reasons.
I concured on everything but controls. That's a subjective opinion.
Some games are not meant for certain consoles.I prefer Cod on PC and 360 but if a Wii version arrived I would not care too much. Its up to High Voltage to deliver that FPS defining game on Wii.
