So you think you’re frustrated with all the GTA coverage? Is it because you’ve got the game, been experiencing it first hand and don’t need others to tell you how great it is? Or is it because you’re a GTA hater and can’t tolerate this abomination getting anymore attention then (insert favourite game) ever did? Well I’m sick of hearing about GTA too, sick of seeing my friends list filled with GTA IV, sick of the newspaper articles, magazine covers, morning show shenanigans, Miss-informed Criticisms, Over informed Bloggerisms (it’s now law that you can put any suffix on blog and call it a word, this one means pointless, spoiler-filled opinion). But my feelings stem from a different reason then most (except maybe the little kids that couldn’t trick their parents into buying it).
I haven’t played GTA-IV yet. I pre-ordered it 2 months ago, I’m one of two people I know who has completed the entire GTA III trilogy and the only one I know who completed GTA I before that (GTA II didn’t keep my attention long enough.) Yet I’m the only one on my friends list who hasn’t experience the perfect 10 that is GTA IV, and it’s killing me slower then marriage.
Why, you may ask? Well it’s simple, god hates me. That and I have to import most of my games from Hong-Kong, but mostly cause god is a sadistic bastard that laughs as he watches me check my mail box every 30 minutes for a week and cry myself to sleep at night.
What adds to the frustration is that I live in New Zealand, the first country to legally sell GTA –IV. I bought my 360 in Japan so when a game is region locked I have to order it from Play-Asia. I can usually tell which games are locked because certain developers (R*, being one of them) and certain publishers (e.g EA) will always region lock their games, why? I don’t know for sure, but I think it has something to do with them costing around $100USD over here and in Europe, and more people would probably do what I do and spend half as much importing them from hong-kong given the choice.
I know what you’re thinking “this dips**t is getting off point” well, I’m not because a couple days ago I found out that for the first time Rockstar decided to stab me in the heart by making the PAL version compatible with Asian consoles and vice versa (US was kept out the loop) . So if I had found out before it was too late to cancel my pre-order I could’ve been one of the first non-pirates to (over pay and) play the best game(though minus the dry humping) since truth or dare. What, did you think I was gonna say Ocarina of Time?
Anyways, I’m confident that tomorrow all this frustration will end and I can finally get my fix. For it’ll be Monday and it will officially be the longest it’s ever taken a game to arrive from Play-asia (it shipped Wednesday). If not, then well it may just lead to the first actual case of real-world violence directly related to GTA, consider yourself warned NZpost.

Yes, it is once again tail time, thanks to Limited Run Games.
Tormeted Souls II has its apparent flaws, but it also happens to be a great horror game and throwback title to the classic survival horror days.
The Outerhaven writes: One of our Nintendo Switch 2 dock died less than a week after launch—and neither Nintendo nor GameStop offered real help. Here's why early adopters should be worried.
How much is a dock for that damn thing if they want $180 to “repair” that one? No way in hell that dock is that expensive.
Nintendo will Nintendo I guess.
Man feel bad for you man. I've had mine since Tuesday and if you like the previous installment's you'll love this one. Just out of curiosity why not sell your 360 and get a new one in New Zealand so you won't have these issues.
As there are many people who are currently frozen out of the game, myself included, you most likely NOT be the last to play. Heck, I might NEVER get to play, with the way Rockstar's dragging their feet.
I haven't actually played GTA IV yet. I'm at uni in London and my copy is in the West country at home, but I refuse to play it till my exams are finished. :(
GTA4 is one hell of an awesome game, but it works about as well as a 360 :(
Are you talking about??? Sheesh instead of faffing around buying import consoles it would been a whole lot easier just getting a USA console that way ALL your games are cheap and in English. FFS!
