Every single ps3 gamer will tell you that you only have two good exclusives this year in Gears 3 and Forza 3. But i'm here to tell you that there is some hope. What these people fail to see is the bigger picture, the gaming industry is not built on exclusives, nor does it rely on them and if there were no excluisves this year would the gaming industry go into meltdown NO. The amount of AAA multiplats this year will keep any gamer happy on the platform they choose. I see exclusives as more of a bonus, not a bragging right. Sometimes this site reminds me of being back at school, when you would argue with other kids about how you have better things than they do aor that you dad is stronger than their dad. Ofcourse there are two sides to this arguement, im sure the 360 fangirls give the other side a hard time when ever they can.
I'm pretty confident that during E3 microsoft will announce more games, they have too. The 360 hasn't had a major announcement for a while now, i'm sure everyone has their lists of games that they want announced and all we can do is wait and see. But like I said there are enough AAA multiplats to tied you over should microsoft decide that they want to concentrate on getting more games out for kinect. Who could blame them they are onto a winner with kinect, it's just become the fastest selling electronic device ever. Microsoft is a buisiness and will want to cash in while this lasts and let multiplats keep the core happy and who wouldn't be happy with the likes of dues ex, bioshock, portal 2, fifa, pro evo, homefront, shift 2 and crysis 2. I could go on and on, I own a ps3 and 360 and the amount of games on both will keep me happy for a longtime to come.
"Digital board games can be tons of fun, especially when they're cooperative. That's what's in store for Beacon Patrol from Assemble Entertainment. Based on the real-life board game by Torben Ratzlaff, Beacon Patrol has players work together to explore a map and create a network of coastal paths, all by placing tiles. It's a lot like Carcassonne and Kingdomino, but set on the high seas. The upcoming Steam version will support 4-player local co-op, and there's a single-player demo right now," says Co-Optimus.
Mario Kart World is some of the most fun you’ll have this year that offers a deep experience with the Switch 2’s launch.
Few games among the Nintendo Switch 2 launch line-up can match Cyberpunk 2077 in putting the system through its paces. It's a staple of our PC benchmarking suite for good reason: the open world design is a solid stressor for any CPU, while its effects-heavy battles challenge GPU resources as well. This Switch 2 release has clearly been a big undertaking for developer CD Projekt Red too, who produced the port in-house with unique optimisations for Switch 2's ARM-based architecture. It's also remarkably the Ultimate Edition of the game, with both the core adventure and the more taxing Phantom Liberty expansion bundled in - an extra portion that proved too demanding to justify a last-gen console release, and was instead restricted to PS5 and Series X/S, and yet here it is running on Switch 2.
To cut to the chase, Switch 2 offers a truly viable way to enjoy Cyberpunk, either in a portable format or docked under a TV. However, CDPR has shot for the stars in its ambition to include Phantom Liberty as well, and it's here that Switch 2 hits some technical limits - with frame-rates struggling as we explore its newer Dog Town region. Still, that aside, there's a lot to admire in the game's engineering for Nintendo's new console overall, and how competitive it is in comparison with other consoles.
I am happy for CDPR. Their hard work paid off because the Switch 2 version are always in the top 5 Switch 2 launch game sales.
This may be one of the weakest launch lineups Nintendo has ever had, with Mario Kart being the only first party game, but Cyberpunk 2077 will definitely give you tremendous value for your money.
One tip I can give people who have never played the game is to first read books from the cyberpunk subgenre. This will allow you to appreciate the story much better. If you find yourself asking which life path is the best to take at the start of the game, in this case it is Corpo, Streetkid, and Nomad. You likely don't know enough about the genre, and certain things will fly right over your head. While it is not mandatory, the game will be 10 times better if you read or listen to some books first.
Some books I have enjoyed in that genre are:
Cyber Dreams by Plum Parrot,
Stray Cat Strut by RavensDagger
Tower of Somnus by Cale Plamann
Mist Runner by Nicholas Searcy
If you can only read or listen to 1 book, then I recommend Cyber Dreams by Plum Parrot. It is the closest thing to Cyberpunk 2077.
DF are Nintendo's occasional bootlickers after that blatant Zelda games ad scandal.
Games like CP2077 are meant to be played on big console or powerful PC on a big screen.
Got to love how they're simp for full price purchase of 5-year-old game and still getting the worst version to play on.
I only got an X360 a while ago (after having a PS3 since a few months after it's EU release) and I agree with you, but that's not how people see things here. Exclusives seem to be the be all and end all here.
I'm looking forward to new series that I have been introduced into now with my X360 (like Mass Effect since it has ME as well as ME2, among other ones). I still game on my PS3 more though and probably always will because I've grown up with Playstations and have always played them. I do hope though that MS do announce some new games for X360, really they need it, and their "announcements" of DLC for Halo and a beta for another game at GDC were a bit ridiculous. I mean announcing announcements is annoying enough, but announcing announcements for DLC and a beta is just beyond stupid.
Either way though it's looking to be a really good year for PS3 whatever way you look at it and everyone will make sure they throw it all over N4G for you to see.
Why worry?
Gears 3 will melt my face off ;)
I can't wait for Gears
I don't need any games, just give me Gears 3
i think the difference with sony is that a lot of the exclusive are only possible on the ps3 as well as a majority are made by first-party studios. GoW will never be on the ps3 but is it because hardware limitation or because they own Epic? no so if they decide to do multiplatform games like insomniac and bugie what would they have left?
Do you not realize that MS has played you for fools? Think about it, the only reason MS delayed gears was for 'marketing' reasons. They pushed it back so easily manipulated people like yourselves would be strung along and come into forums to say things like "just wait for gears" or "all I need is gears". If you were really into this hobby of gaming you WOULD care that you have nothing but multi-plats to play.
I don't get the reasoning behind the 'just lay back and take it like a b*tch' method of thinking. You're all like abused girlfriends who just keep saying "he loves me really" and wearing sunglasses to cover your black eyes.
I'm trying to help you all, please listen without getting angry, if you take MS shiz lying down and pretend like nothing is wrong just because of your internet pride, then you will never get the treatment you deserve.
I know it might be hard for you to swallow but the PS3 just has a better line up these days. I remember 2006/7 just like you guys and played my Xbox relentlessly then but those days are over. Ms has moved on from you and now you have to step up swallow your ridiculous fanboy pride and buy a PS3 to get the BEST choice of games around.
Don't let the 'war' ruin your own gaming experience.
