Resident Evil 4 to 5 (Love or Hate)

                                                 Greetings fellow RE fans,

It was very clear to me that this day was coming, yet an other RE game and it's always with joy but this time we had the chance to play the game before buying. I know this option for many is a good thing but it can be a very bad. Now there are a lot of people that won't buy the game because of the demo.

I wanted to write this due to the fact I got into a big argument yesterday with one of my oldest friend, he has joined the dark side( he use to care about fun games now it's about how the game sells and which system is stronger). Wat does this have to do with RE? well he used to be like many gamers that used to like Nintendo then he went on about how the wii isn't a gaming machine and how it's destroying the game industry (clearly he is misinformed), then he said something that just rubbed me the wrong way.

"Resident evil 4 on the wii was just wrong and Capcom should of never done that, they sold out" After hearing that, I don't care who you are but that is just ignorant and plain stupid to say especially when the person never played that version. But the RE5 demo was a masterpiece for him, the control was perfect. If I had a rope I probably would of hanged my self right there in front of him,

So do you think RE5 can honestly out do the masterpiece that was first enjoyed on the cube then given the best control set up ( IMHO) on the wii? I like the demo and I am a RE fan, but after all the dust settles I think RE5 will sell and that's the bottom line even though it's not the same producer as part4.

A lot of people consider RE5 to be RE4.5 which is fair for them to say, africa edition for others. RE4 was something fresh and new/old and the thing everyone was mad at was the fact ..OMGZ they changed the camera and there's no zombies. then the game was hailed as the revival of the series. Once they ported it to the wii and gave us the IR aiming, I can tell you from that feeling...I couldn't look back at the standard control scheem afterwards. I was happy to hear that Capcom was making RE5 but then my fear of the control set up, yes back to analog stick aiming again. Same game really but with pretty graphics, I will go through it but honestly the enjoyment for me and many others will not feel full satisfaction.
I love RE4 but can't hate the big brother version RE5, just have one of those sad faces.

"Best resident evil moment, RE wii edition... Aiming with the handgun has become like pin point accuracy like a sniper gun. Knee shot, then suplex...Wesker fierce punch thrust, Krausers knee face bash... I love that game's replay value."

RE5 wii edition would be wrong also, just give us something new on the wii and don't cut corners.

PS: Sorry for any verbs/grammar , my mother tongue is french and the auto correct only does so much.

"“launch sales were ~66% lower than Death Stranding 1"

Maybe he'll put this franchise to rest now and do something new (which I know he is thankfully)

Not to hate if you enjoy these games but they weren’t for everyone and it puzzles me that he did a sequel rather than doing Physint next or even an actual P.T like game.

I just feel he's trying to make Death Stranding a thing, like as big as Metal Gear Solid and it's just not going to happen.

I'm about half way thru the first game and its definitely an acquired taste.

Clearly not for everyone. I never tried it and it tells me absolutely nothing

“Maybe he'll put this franchise to rest now and do something new”

He is making new things, so I don’t see what the problem is. Game reviewed better than the first. It has its fans and served its purpose.

At its core, it’s just not a very commercial game. Takes work, which might turn off casuals.

Probably not, the sales won't be much lower than the first game. And its a critical success

Fox

It's selling well digitally you can't compare it to sales of ps4 game because even back than digital wasn't the be all end all like it is today now. With GTA6 delayed DS2 is the game to beat for GOTY

Exclusive vs Exclusive and a Mario game lost? There is still hope for humanity.

If they released at the same time Im pretty sure Mario would still take number one.

At least get the statement right, physical sales were down 66%, not total.

Obviously, digital is bigger part of the landscape than it was on PS4.

Digitally on the PlayStation store it is and has been the best selling retail game since prior to release, and still is today.

Also, the digital edition came with early access.

My friends and I bought it digital. Truth be told, I haven’t bought a disc in years. Is what it is.
