Things I Wish Capcom Keeps From The Older Games If They Decided to Make Outbreak File #3 (Part 2)

So I talked about the things I wish to see if Capcom ever made File 3 a reality in the last article. Now I want to talk about the things I don’t want them to change as they are perfect as it is…

1-Fixed Camera Angles and Tank Controls:

If there is one thing that made this game awesome, it’s the fixed Camera Angles and tank controls. Just make a Realistic background with a Realistic Character Models which should be an easy thing to achieve with the Current Gen Consoles. No need for Over the Shoulder Cam in this one or anything else.

2 – Replay Value:

The Replay Value in this game was insane, each character had a different ending in each Scenario and even if the difference between the ending was small, it was at least different. But what makes the Replay Value Insane here? It’s the collectibles in the game. Each character have their own collectibles that only them can find and collect and they are called Special Items. Special Items unlocked customs for the characters and their Voices (You have to find a collectible in order to able to talk lol) . And you also get a Rank on how well you performed in a chapter and how many files you found, the better you perform the better your Rank, the higher Points you get when you finish a Scenario. When you finish a scenario you get Points where you spend on features such as Lone Wolf where you can play Solo or Extra Modes like Boss Rush where you fight all the bosses. You can also play with every NPC in the game once you finish the Scenarios on higher difficulties. You also buy the difficulties and the difference each difficulty make is insane which brings us to number 3…

3-The Extremely hard difficulty And the changes it makes in the game:

One of the things that seriously put people off from the game is its excruciating hard difficulty, even on Easy mode. There are four difficulties. Easy, Normal, Hard and Very Hard. There is an extra difficulty called Nightmare Mode which act as a feature that doubles the points gained when finish a Scenario. You will die a lot until you learn from your mistakes, many times you will see yourself escaping from even the weakest enemies like the Zombies especially on higher difficulties as they can kill you very easily and what makes it even harder is the Virus Gauge, once it reaches 100%, that’s it. Game Over. I talked about how I wish that feature would be removed because honestly, this feature can be an annoyance especially on higher difficulties when a bite of a Zombie can make the gauge growth very rapid. So what difference aside from the tougher enemies changes on higher difficulties? The items placement. Almost every item changes entirely when you play on higher difficulties. For instance, if you unlock a safe on Easy mode, you find a Magnum, on Hard mode, you find a herb and on Very Hard Mode, you find a File. The change is brilliant and makes the game highly replayable as everything changed so it makes the Scenario fresh to play again.

4- The Soundtrack:

The OST in the game was absolutely amazing, the main theme was one of the best in the RE series. And some of the boss's OST was really good. That is something i hope they carry on to the next game with few new additions.

5-The Gameplay:

The gameplay is exactly like the Classic Resident Evil games with only one change, the Move and Shoot mechanic. Also this was the first game in the series to feature Move and Shoot mechanic and it was perfectly done here. Also characters can physically push Zombies if you aim without a weapon and there are a few changes here and there from the classics but the gameplay is highly similar to the old games which is awesome. If it ain't broke, dont fix it.

That was a long article but I had to do it because the Outbreak Series is dear to my heart and I wish to see it make a comeback one day. And what is really funny is that three of the games I hated the most in my life have become three of my favorite games off all time. Those three games were Deadly Premonition, Final Fantasy XII and Resident Evil Outbreak File 2. So I urge you, if there is a game you tried the first time and hated it so much, give it a second chance. It might turn out to be one of your favorite games of all time.

Thank You very much for taking your time in reading this. If there something you want to add to the discussion that you believe should be added or removed from the game or disagree with some of the points I made then please, sound off in the comments :)
