Killzone 3's stunning graphics may be a bad thing.

First off, before I write this I would like to make it known I only own a PS3 and consider myself to be somewhat of a fanboy. Not a really extreme one but a mild one. Now that i got that out of the way here is why I believe that KZ3's stunning graphics are a bad thing.

"The lack of offline (multiplayer) or split-screen in Killzone 2 is a result of the Playstation 3 not being able to handle the two screens being rendered at the same time."-Herman Hulst in April 2009. Uncharted 2 which had equal or maybe superior graphics did not have offline split-screen because of the graphical power limiting their ability to create two equal screens running at the same time. So as we may enjoy the stellar graphics of Killzone 3's campaign and online multiplayer something will seem missing. My ability to play with friends on co-op or 1 VS 1.

Sony, how do you expect to get Xbox gamers to come buy PS3's if they can only watch there friends who own PS3's play KZ3. I was sold on buying a PS3 over the Xbox because I fell in love with Resistance:Fall of Man's offline co-op when i played it at a friend's house. Which in turn got me a PS3 and introduced me to a whole new world of game series I never heard of but now enjoy (God of War, R&C and Socom to name a few)

So I say that to allow KZ3 to have offline multiplayer I would be happy to see a graphical cut down. It's not like it would be a tragedy if it had graphics similar to Modern Warfare 2 or Socom 4.

That was a big complaint on KZ2. I can guarantee theyve looked into it, and are gonna fix it. I think if it where to do split screen it would have to be similar to Halo 3's split screen, with black bars on each side of the tv.

Id much rather have this, than degrading to CoDs graphics lol.

I definately did not like COD4 split screen. Oh god, it was terrible, blurry mess lower than even SD!

I'd much rather have the visuals like they are in kz2, and if they do degrade for splitscreen I hope it's only when playing splitscreen.

but this is my issue with most games today. I remember growing up as a kid and just having a blast with split screen, beating the hell out of each other in goldeneye with a bunch of buddies.

Now days you can't even do this in the same bedroom/living room or without online. To me this is a major major shame and is kind of a step backwards in terms of multiplayer....not being able to just play with buddies....what a shame.

This split screen issue is evident and degrading in many games today. The original Killzone was extremely satisfying in split-screen with my brother even with all the framerate problems. The fact that there were bots and not just us to against each other made the game hundereds of times much more enjoyable!

Splitscreen blows and will always blow. Srry.

it does for people with no real friends

I guess you dislike local co-op and multiplayer then.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2: a cutting-edge game translates well to Nintendo's console hybrid

Few games among the Nintendo Switch 2 launch line-up can match Cyberpunk 2077 in putting the system through its paces. It's a staple of our PC benchmarking suite for good reason: the open world design is a solid stressor for any CPU, while its effects-heavy battles challenge GPU resources as well. This Switch 2 release has clearly been a big undertaking for developer CD Projekt Red too, who produced the port in-house with unique optimisations for Switch 2's ARM-based architecture. It's also remarkably the Ultimate Edition of the game, with both the core adventure and the more taxing Phantom Liberty expansion bundled in - an extra portion that proved too demanding to justify a last-gen console release, and was instead restricted to PS5 and Series X/S, and yet here it is running on Switch 2.

To cut to the chase, Switch 2 offers a truly viable way to enjoy Cyberpunk, either in a portable format or docked under a TV. However, CDPR has shot for the stars in its ambition to include Phantom Liberty as well, and it's here that Switch 2 hits some technical limits - with frame-rates struggling as we explore its newer Dog Town region. Still, that aside, there's a lot to admire in the game's engineering for Nintendo's new console overall, and how competitive it is in comparison with other consoles.

I am happy for CDPR. Their hard work paid off because the Switch 2 version are always in the top 5 Switch 2 launch game sales.

Not much launched with it besides ports so it should be expected I guess.
