I cancelled my pre-order for Red Dead Redemption at my local HMV today, then I went back to the office and pre-ordered it online from HMV's website.
Seems pretty stupid right? I mean it's the same company, so what the hell was I doing?
Well it turns out that you get no pre-order bonus from ordering it instore, whereas the website pre-order gets me DLC and a free Blu-Ray DVD.
HMV is never going to be the biggest hitter when it comes to online sales, and by removing reasons for me to visit their high street stores they are surely only damaging their long term prospects.
Anyway, rant over.
The tiny green slasher villain returns in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and is as frightening as ever.
The next Tomb Raider game will take place in India and will feature an "unrestricted" open world setting, based on the latest rumor.
The rumours on the new game sound awful
"A natural disaster strikes northern India revealing ancient emperor Ashoka's ruins and artifacts. Lara strategically races against a Society of Raiders and other rivals for these powerful relics. The Society of Raiders are inspired by Lara yet unaffiliated and might have some opposite agendas. This also relates to a new feature based on recruiting teams and allies to strategically aid you in missions and defeating rivals. There's emphasis on a new non-lethal combat option"
"Generic Ubigame" structure.
4 companions with their own habilities.
Open or semi-open world, not clear.
Lara would have a motorcycle, to make it easier for players to explore.
MMO elements.
5 villains, very stereotypical, including a rich man, a mob boss, and two brothers.
Familiar characters returning, Jonah Maiava and Kurtis Trent.
Lara will have a skill tree with spells.
The game is a mix of various trends and genres."
Like, do they even know what Tomb Raider is anymore. I hope it's all bullshit, not everything needs to be open world.
I really hope they do a remaster of The Last Revelation and Chronicles.
oh god. please dont.
lwts go bk to ... you know, tomb raiding. that would be amazing.
Embracer don't give a toss about this. Their CEO is a known flipper (something I've said here for years - feel free to look up my history to find it)
They purchased it for 300m, making a half-arsed game to fulfil a contract and then flipping it to Amazon for 600m
At least Gearbox ended up at T2. Lets hope Deus Ex finds a new home soon because these idiots are 10x worse than MS.
Every game doesn't have to be full open world. I'm also hearing that Resident Evil 9 will be open world as well. Semi open world would be better in certain area's I guess imo
