I'm just going to comment and do a bit of compare and contrast on the sniping system in both GoW and CoD3.
first in Gears of War. The sniper rifle (aka the Longshot) is a very powerful, mid to long range weapon. This rifle is bolt-action. When you aim with this weapon, the camera switches from third-person view to a first person view, as if you were looking down the scope. When you aim in GoW, the cross-hairs remain fixed on the screen, like in most shooters. The rifle may be powerful, but if you don't get a headshot, it will take 2 to 3 shots to kill your enemy (one shots to weaken, another to down, and another to finish them off). But if you were to snipe the opponent is certain areas of the body, then you can down them in one shot. Also, if you were to shot someone at point-blank range (2 - 3 feet from you opponent) then you can down them in one shot, and you can crub-stomp them, melee them, do whatever you want to finish them off.
Now for CoD3. Sniping in this game requires more skill in my opinion (then again, it is an FPS). When sniping in Call of Duty 3, your cross-hairs never remain still; they are always moving. The only way to center your cross-hairs is by holding you breath, this give you about 10-15 seconds of perfect aim. The sniper rifle for all nations is bolt-action. These sniper rifles are not all too powerful, for sometimes it can take 3-4 shots to kill a enemy if your a bad shot. But if you were an experienced sniper, you can most of the time get headshots with your cross-hairs moving around your screen. But one thing you can't really do in CoD3 that you can do in GoW is shoot your enemy at point-blank rage, for the sniper rifle becomes extremely inaccurate when you are in motion. It is possible though, but its caused by luck more so than skill.
In general, i prefer sniping in CoD3, it feels better to me. Plus the Scout Sniper gets to call in Artillery Strikes!!!! But the sniping animation, and headshot animations are much better in GoW. Getting a Headshot in GoW is just amazing, and feels good when your enemies head explodes!

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Despite some good ideas that could have made Among The Whispers: Provocation a compelling addition to the ghost hunting horror subgenre, there are a lot of messy elements scattered throughout all of its corners. It does have a solid foundation, and being single-player does differentiate it from its sources of inspiration, but at the end of the day, the source of inspiration is still a better experience. It does lack variety and becomes tedious very quickly."
